Don't know why we hadn't tried this gem of a place, before, but probably because there are so many tavernas to choose from, and you can only cram so many in, over you holiday.Anyway,- this little place oozes atmosphere, with it's vines trailing from the roof, and the lovely plants and decor. It's situated on a corner, at the harbour, so you can watch life go by.
From the moment we set foot in the place, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness, and this continued throughout the meal.Staff couldn't do enough for us, and were always smiling. The food is absolutely delicious. I had the best moussaka I've ever had ( in Elounda), in this taverna, and my husband declared his lamb chops to be 'fantastic' ( and believe me, he has eaten his way through a fair amount of lamb chops, in Greece, over the years).
This is the sort of traditional taverna Hellenophiles will love. If it's chips etc you want- go somewhere else.We will be hot-footing it back to this taverna next year.Fabulous.
