We ate quite late and the food was superb. There was so much of it but we managed to eat it all. The location is great, right on the waters edge. The staff helpful and friendly. Worth a visit.

We love visiting Elounda whilst in Crete so much that we decided to stay and eat in Elounda. This restaurant is down the end of a pathway and was one of the only restaurants that didn't badger us to eat at their restaurant.Traditional Greek cuisine, the zucchini i have to say was the best we had all holiday as was the Greek salad. The meal was served with good portions and home made chips and the food was delicious. The service was excellent and a lot of care was taken in ensuring the table was laid correctly, including cloth serviettes. On our second visit we sat at the very top of the jetty where we were able to catch a glimpse of the stingray feeding - I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, we will definitely be back!

ate out every night while staying for a week in beautiful Elounda. Poorest restaurant we tried, very average tourist food not authentic greek at all. Everything served on one plate, meat, veg, salad etc just plonked on same plate. Kleftiko and Stifado very average.

Our children ordered 1) fish soup expecting chunks of fish but what came was a very, very watery bland liquid with a few tiny flakes of white fish, resembled washing up water from the pan you would cook fish in .2) a pizza , I now not typically Greek at all, but when offered on a menu you expect something decent particularly when described as 'special' pizza. What arrived it was a cooked frozen pizza!!! not even as big as a dinner plate , cheese, tomato and ham is what equated to special. When we were asked if everything was ok we questioned if it was the correct pizza we had been given, yes special pizza the waiter replied...not really !

One positive was their taramosalarta dip which was best we had had in Elounda so Poulis stick to what you know and maybe just offer a basic meze dip menu. Other country food stuffs and traditional cooked Greek meals not your thing. Would not and did not return to this restaurant as much better in Elounda.

We ate out every night during our stay in Elounda, and we were looking forward to eating here - it was usually busy, the staff seemed friendly and not too pushy and it had received some good reviews on Tripadvisor.

We ordered the "fresh" fish platter with lobster, but several of the fish on the menu did not arrive eg no red mullet, and much of the rest, such as the fried squid, was straight out of the freezer. Our swordfish was vile ... I told the waiter that it was "not fresh", in fact it was definitely off (I had to spit mine out and my table manners are usually quite good!) and it put us off the rest of our meal. Instead of dealing with the issue, or even simply apologising, the waiter just told me that none of the restaurants were selling fresh swordfish. I just asked for the bill, 91 euros and left.

The following day, as we walked past, the same waiter called after us, sarcastically asking if I was still in a bad mood!

Sometimes things go wrong in restaurants, but when they do I expect them to be dealt with. This kind of arrogance, particularly bad mouthing other local establishments, is totally unacceptable. The fish I ate elsewhere was very fresh, and the service was great.

My advice is to learn from our misfortune - don't eat at the Poulis. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in Elounda to choose from.
