“Siesta Drink, yes thats right, Siesta Drink.”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

It was a windy day when we visited. I cannot fault the bar, lots of drinks on offer plus WiFi available as well.

“Lovely”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Excellent quality food, real Greek homemade meals that were really well presented. View from our waterfront table was equally as gorgeous. Staff, in particular the manager Akis, made a real effort to make our meal special, he made a fuss of our 5 year old daughter, treating her to a complimentary ice cream (with sparkler!) and a nice fruit platter for the grown ups to complete our meal. After our visit Akis said hello every time we passed and was very friendly. You can tell how proud he is of his family restaurant, and so he should be. Definitely recommended.

Great location, very friendly service and amazing food.
Went there on a cold October evening and enjoyed every moment.
Don't think twice - you'll love it!

“Not to be missed”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

If you want a romantic setting for a dinner - this is the place to go. At the end of the "promenade" and the feeling of being alone !

The food was very good and well served in quantity.

For once, the "house" wine was also very good (which was really not the case elsewhere) !

A french touch in a cretan way... the perfect mixture !!!

“Experience holiday memories are made of!”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

After seeing such impressive reviews, I booked this restuarant by phone some weeks before going to Crete hoping to ensure a waterfront table. When we arrived, I realised we were regarded as something of a novelty & amusement as this isn't the done thing in this part of the world! Our greeting from Akis, as a result, felt like a return of his long-lost children & he showed me our table booking with allocated pole position seating in bold lettering at the top of his diary! Why mention all this? Well, I think it summed up the whole joyful experience of The Ferryman and it's differentiating attributes. Akis is incredibly eccentric, loud & charismatic while his wife, Sophia, is gentle & charming. This would count for only little had the food not been equally emphatic - beautifully cooked lamb, beef, fish & veg, well presented. Unhurried service allowed a truly relaxing evening - almost felt they didn't want you to go - oh & a fantastic waterfront table!! P.S. We did go a second evening unannounced - other tables almost as good!
