“A unique villa in an unspoilt part of Crete”

We invited friends and family to join us for a two weeks holiday and everyone had the most amazing time. The villa is just beautiful and set on a unique cliff side position with a 180 degree view over the sea. Wonderfully clean and peaceful beaches within walking distance, a great taverna beach side, attentive and discreet staff, delightful garden with rock garden and herb garden sides, an infinity pool worthy of a movie set... It was the holiday of a lifetime and a very difficult place to leave...

So many positives, it's hard to list them all but I will try.
1. Location, location, location.
2. Hosts. George and Alex and family embraced us like their own and looked after every need. Their hospitality was unbelievable,
3. Views to die for. 270 degree views. Look in any direction and its jaw dropping beautiful.
4. 5 bedrooms , 4 bathrooms, and plenty of space to bring a big group.
5. Serenity. Their were times, with no one within 500 meters of the property, you could listen to the birds, the sea and the wind. Heaven, for those that want to chill.
6. Resources. Great kitchen with everything one needs to prepare a great meal. We did a couple of times and dined under the stars with magnificent views.
7. Chef. We hired stefanos to come in and cook a seafood extravaganza for 4, and it blew us away. Setefanos who is a world class chef and he prepared the freshest seafood. Value for money, our hosts can arrange a special dining experience without blowing the budget.
8. Effi our cleaner who was so much more. She came in every day, spoiled us with bread, baked in wood ovens and delivered every morning. Eggs so fresh from her garden. She is a godsend.
9. Great beaches wishing 20 minutes walk such as Marathi and Loutraki .

There is so much more but my advice for anyone contemplating staying in this heavenly place, hire a car or motor bike. The closest supermarket is ten kms away. Chania is 16 kms away. Not even a small mini mart close, so if you need anything, it's a drive. But in exchange for that isolation is the most magnificent and peaceful place on earth.

“Everything Was Amazing”

My family, including my two-year-old niece, stayed here in early September. The experience was wonderful, the owners go above and beyond to make sure you have the best possible time, the villa is beautiful, the views are stunning and the nearby beaches, particularly Marathi, were perfect.

Not much to add to what others have already said, just that if you are thinking about going, don't hesitate, you won't regret it. And definitely arrange for the chef to come cook at the villa, the food is super-fresh and spectacular.

“Stunning Views & Amazing Service!”

The stunning views and incredible hospitality extended by Alex & his family made staying at Oleo Prime our favorite part of our trip to Greece. We've stayed at many vacation rental properties before, but never have we experienced such wonderful attention & service.

The moment we walked down the walkway and through the impressive door (yes, even the front door is noteworthy!), we were enveloped with the gorgeous views and knew this was a special place. The various decks were so inviting that we wanted to stay outside. But inside was lovely & comfortable and was stocked with everything you could possibly need.

The gifts of food (delicious homemade dessert, farm fresh eggs etc...) were welcomed gestures, along with the daily cleaning by the loveliest lady. Alex & his father managed a fine balance of being available on a daily basis for advice or help of any kind, yet were not at all intrusive. When they found out we wanted to go to Elafonisi Beach, Alex called ahead to get the weather & wind advisory so he could recommend the best day to go. He helped arrange bike rentals, an enjoyable olive oil factory tour, as well as a memorable & delicious chef-prepared meal at the villa, which we thoroughly enjoyed (after a long day at the beach), while looking over the sparkling waters.

The drive into Chania is easy & the waterfront shops & restaurants are fun to peruse. Alex recommended eating at Pallas, which was absolutely delicious & our best meal out. Although the gyro place at the top of the hill from the villa offered affordable & quite yummy gyros and such.

There is a great grocery/liquor store just 10 minutes away, along w numerous mini markets w fresh produce & coffee. Our kids-18, 22, & 26 consumed multiple Café Frappes from the local shops, as well as home-brewed, generously supplied by the Villa. Our favorite market was Megith(sp?) w the green striped awning on the way Chania. We also enjoyed some nice lunches at the new restaurant @ the resort just down the street from the Villa. So new, we had to read the menu from the waiter’s cell phone as the menus hadn’t yet arrived.! But both the food & service were very good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Crete – mostly due to this extraordinary villa and phenomenal hospitality. Many thanks to Alex & his family!

“Above and beyond our expectations”

Olea Prime delivered everything and more than we imagined possible from a holiday villa. Incredibly comfortable and equipped with every utensil, piece of crockery and electrical device you can think of, what really made it special (not that it needed anything more), was the hospitality of the owners. From meeting us at the airport to show us the way to the villa in the dark, preparing a freshly cooked supper dish to nourish us on arrival, to anticipating our every need during our stay. We had one tiny glitch when a power cut prevented the electric gates to the parking area from opening - Alex appeared within minutes to resolve the issue - and I could go on and on about the other acts of kindness and attentiveness shown to us throughout our stay at Olea Prime and then our second week at a smaller Olea villa. I would class our stay here as a combination of a luxury villa with all the services of a 5 star hotel. It suited all ages of our group - 3, 6, 11, 14 and four adults. Marathi beach close by was also without fault for cleanliness, soft sand, clear water, beach facilities and several restaurants, including a fantastic beach bar/cafe that we enjoyed on numerous occasions.

Liked best: Villa was perfect anyway, but hospitality took it to another level.
Liked least: Materials used for construction (wood) doesn't provide great soundproofing.

This summer we decided to take an extended family vacation (nine of us) to Crete where Olea Villas became our home away from home. The villa is as beautiful as the wonderful host Alex presents in his photos. Almost every room has a spectacular view of the bay and the outdoor seating area by the pool with its platform hanging over the cliffs is a perfect place to relax after a morning of sightseeing in the nearby town of Chania. Alex and his father went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and that the villa was well equipped with whatever we needed. We would highly recommend Olea Villa for anyone vacationing in Crete.
