Admittedly we stayed in the nicest room, "Venecia", with a great double door balcony overlooking the harbor, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. One comment though, they serve the same breakfast every day. By the third day we would have liked a little variety.

I had been considering another hotel, and almost chose that one because there weren't too many reviews about Belmondo (although every one there was, was positive) but in the end I decided to go for charm over knowing for sure it was a decent hotel - and boy did we make the right decision! We had the Belmondo Room - the most incredible room, clean and beautifully decorated with a balcony the size of a bedroom overlooking the harbor. There was one night when a loud band was playing down in the harbour, which we heard through the closed doors. They stopped at 11 PM, so it was fine, and other than that it was perfectly quiet. To sum up - all I can say is WOW! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. They also serve a delicious breakfast every morning, brought to your balcony. (Did I mention the amazing balcony??)

After spending two weeks in Greece, this was our favorite hotel. The location is perfect being right on the harbor in the Old Town. We could walk everywhere.
Now, the best part is the 'Belmondo' room. It is definetly the room to get. What a view it has from the private rooftop deck! We sat there for hours enjoying the water and views of the old town. It was beautiful.
Breakfast was brought up to our room and we ate out on the deck. The room is large and has a confortable sitting area where we used the free wifi.
The two woman running the hotel were friendly and very helpful. Parking was easier than I thought it would be. Just use the public lot at the west end of the harbor and walk about five minutes to the hotel.
Stay at the Belmondo! We would love to go back.

I booked thru bookings.com for a slightly lower price than what the website was quoting. The price did not include breakfast. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Rather than eat breakfast in, we ventured into the town and had delicious breakfasts each day of our stay. We like variety so the thought of the same thing each day was not to appealing anyway.

The room was large with separate desk and sitting areas. The one area of improvement was the bathroom. It was the most "shabby" part of the room, in need of renovation. If you do stay here, you must get a sea view room. The view off the balcony is truly breathtaking.

The staff (we only saw two people there) were very nice and capable. One note is that the front desk is not 24 hours so depending on your flight schedule, you may need to make special arrangements for leaving and arriving. In fact, our departing flight was very aery and the woman at the front desk arranged for a taxi to get us at 5:30 which was perfect.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again. The views and more importantly the location can't be beat. And although the balcony faces the busy port, the rooms are very quiet once the windows and doors are closed....the AC works wonderfully!

One important word of advice for tourists is to avoid the restaurants facing the port. You must venture into the side streets and eat at one of the many tavernas sprinkled inside these neighborhoods. They are so much better, better food and value. Three of our favorites were Strata, Portals, and Well of the Turk.

Yes everything about the location is true, we stayed three nights in the top floor triple room with our adult daughter and appreciated having our own terrace and views of the harbour. Overall it was very pleasant but since we were paying 150 euros I feel I should mention the following points:
> the floor is one of those pre-laid wooden ones and it is coming adrift so squeaks loudly every time you walk on it.
>The roof top terrace only had two seats and a broken umbrella, it would have been nice to have at least one sun lounger to relax in.
> The two flights of stairs are steep and carrying luggage up is only for the fit; the front desk staff would not help, in fact they suggested the exercise would do us good (and we are not over weight) I thought this condescending and rude to say the least.
>FInally on the first day I checked to see if there was a reduction if paying cash, the receptionist said there was and she would check the next day with the manager and let me know. When we came to leave we were told we hadn't asked the right person and that we had to pay an extra three percent if we didn't pay in cash. Weird.
