the hotel is right in the middle of chania's old town, with an entrance on the rear of the waterfront of the harbour. ideally one should ask for a room with a balcony in order to be able to enjoy breakfast with a view of chania's harbour...the building is a traditional one, and the furniture in keeping with the style of the building...if you have a car, it is best to arrive and depart before 10 a.m., since the harbour road is open to traffic until that time, so there is less distance to walk to and from the hotel... please also be aware that like most other accomodation in the "old" town of Chania, it is situated in a pedestrian zone and parking is a bit difficult in Chania..however the old town is also lovely. The staff were all very nice and helpful..

Stayed in this hotel 7 times now, in 5 different rooms, each with slightly different style, layout and bathroom, some with balconies.. All rooms lovely, some with fabulous views of the old harbour. Continental breakfast is ok, coffee could be hotter and weaker. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will go back again.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view

We stayed for 5 nights in the Belmondo room which is on the 2nd floor of the Belmondo. It has a fantastic big balcony overlooking the ventian harbour where we had breakfast most mornings (although on a couple of days it was really windy so we ate in our room). Really friendly reception team, who helped us book a trip to Samaria gorge (would recommend Elophenassia (spelling?) travel only Euro25 pp). Big breakfasts which we never finished, big room and right in the middle of everything, but quiet. They also gave us good instructions about where to park for free. As long as you can carry your luggage up 3 flights of stairs this is for you.

Room Tip: Belmondo has a hugh balcony overloooking the old harbour, but had no problem with noise

We had a great stay for seven nights in the Belmondo room from 28th August til 3 September. The room was spacious and had a huge terrace overlooking the harbour which was perfect for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks. The terrace was also perfect for sunbathing if you can't be bothered to walk to the beach but unfortunately no sunbeds were provided, only a table, chairs and sun umbrella. You could perhaps buy a lilo and sunbathe as the terrace is very private and not at all overlooked. The staff at the Belmondo were very friendly and always smiling. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed daily. Breakfast was plentiful with lovely freshly squeezed juice and delicious yoghurt with honey, bread, cold meat, cake, biscuits and fresh coffee or tea. We had asked to use their transfer service from the airport and this went without a hitch as the driver was there with a name card on our arrival. The cost of transfer was 23 Euro and only took around 20 minutes. We arranged for transfer back to the airport and again, the driver was there on time and was very courteous. I would highly recommend this hotel and in my opinion the Belmondo room has the best view of the harbour with the benefit of the very spacious terrace/balcony.

Room Tip: Belmondo room

The location of the hotel is perfect (although be aware it cannot be reached by car - it is easier to get there with luggage by the harbor instead of the inner streets). The common areas are okay - but it is the deck of the Belmondo room that made our stay there so fabulous!
The room is nice and a good size (although the bathroom is a little dark and small) but the deck is huge and overlooks the harbor and all the action. The deck is a great place to enjoy a drink at sunset and the breakfast in the morning (the yogurt was the BEST I had in Greece).
Never saw any of the other rooms so I cannot comment on them - but if you can get the Belmando room, I can't imagine a better spot to enjoy Chania from.
