“Great price a Place Defiantly Not to Be missed”
Reviewed July 7, 2012

We have just come back from staying at this Hotel in Crete and I have to say, both me and my partner were pleasantly suprised. We defiantly got ALOT more than we expected considering the price. The rooms were spacious and very clean with fresh towels everyday, and the room cleaned every day. Also i quite enjoyed the breakfast too, it wasn't anything special but it was enough and very nice coffee.

I would defiantly recommend this place, it was very clean and the people who worked at the hotel were friendly and very helpful. They even arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the airport. I would highly recommend paying that little bit extra for a balcony sea view because there is nothing like sitting and watching the sun set over the sea.

After exploring around the area it was defiantly apparent our hotel was one of the nicest ones and right outside a lovely beach.

We stayed at Danaos and requested a room overlooking the beach. It was perfect because we could sit out on our patio, have a cold beer and watch everyone on the beach. Also, hanging out at the beach is nice because you can easily run back up to your room. Walk to Chania is nice, not too far. There are a few good restaurants very close by or you can walk into Chania to eat on the waterfront. The hotel staff are very helpful, they answered all our questions and even helped us rent a car. This isn't a 5 star hotel, it's not the cleanest or biggest but the breakfast (included) was decent and the location really can't be beat.

This hotel is family run and the owner is a very charming and helpful man - English good and assisted me with various enquiries. The Breakfast was substantial and as it was late in the season there was only 1 member of staff, who was a very cheerful and charming Russian lady - she did breakfast, reception and the cleaning!
Clean towels (plenty of them) and sheets every other day. The rooms were basic, good for the cost, but contained a full size fridge!
Lots of Tavernas and restaurants in easy reach and the bar under the hotel was nice to sit and gaze at the sea.
Beach right across the road (one way and quiet) sun beds and umbrellas available, at cost. Shop next door to the hotel.
The hotel does not change money so a bus trip to town will sort this (bus stop across the road) Make sure that you find out where the return stops are as the drivers won't stop when you hold your arm out!!! I ended up getting a taxi back!!!
A nice('ish) walk along the coast will bring you to the Old Town and Venician Harbour.
Great situation as the fitter can walk to town, and the lazy have the beach.

Yes, this hotel has a great location on the Nea Hora beachfront with everything very close and only a short walking distance from Hania center, but no, you wouldn´t want a room from the back side of the hotel. A horrible view on a back alley and maybe the noisiest neighbourhood ever! We stayed for two weeks, and for two weeks I didn´t sleep an eyefull! There was a German sheppard on roof of the opposite building, whish barked every night, all night, plus some smaller canine who added their wonderful voices to the consert. Apparently the german sheppard was permanently kept on the roof!

Of course I do realise this is not hotels fault, but it is definitely something that affects the quality of your holiday.

Otherwise the hotel was well kept and clean. Breakfast was the usual with youghurt and buns, coffee and juice. Not particularly special but a ok start for a day.

Beautiful beaches out front, clean rooms, excellent breakfast, tavernikas with authentic greek food line the streets, within walking distance of old hania shopping market, very reasonable prices compared to most places in that area, excellent service, dependable and honest family owned business, and great views from rooms! A must stay!
