The hotel is located next to the Venetian harbor, in the center of the characteristic neighborhood, in a little street with many shops and typical products.
The room was tiny and had the only window that was in front of a big wall, the ancient city walls, but a little bit light was necessary. The cleaning of the room was good.
The breakfast was quite varied and good, is served in a very nice ground floor.
The staff was always very friendly.
I recommend this tree especially for the favorable position for the visit of the Venetian harbor.

Just arrived home today after spending 7 nights at this hotel which we loved, very friendly staff, room was spotless and cleaned every day, clean towels every day too. Been to Greece many times and this to be the best hotel we have stayed in. We enjoyed our freshly squeezed orange juice sitting outside every morning at breakfast. Perfectly situated in old town with its many restaurants - recommend staying at this hotel.

This hotel is ideally situated in the old town, close to the harbour and nearby cafes and tavernas. It is in a small street with no traffic and is lined with cafes and shops. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor and opened on to a very large balcony overlooking the main street. The accommodation was clean and appropriate for the price. Not much room to move around in but for our purposes this was ideal as we were out most of the day. Breakfast was ok and it was very pleasant to sit out on the main street.

For the prices charged this was ideal.

Room Tip: 2nd floor facing the front is ideal.

Located in the middle of the old town on a street without traffic. Last floor has only 2 rooms and great terace - try to book a room there. Free parkings are 5 and 10 minutes away. Do not book breakfast - it's better tohave breakfast in the nearest cafe in the morning.

Room Tip: Last floor has only 2 rooms and great terace. Book the nearest to the stairs - in the other one at n...

We needed a hotel in Chania for two nights at the end of a fortnight in Crete because we were flying out of Chania airport. We wanted to be in the midst of the Venetian old town, near the harbour and accessible by car just to drop off the luggage. El Greco appeared to fit all these requirements and so we booked on line.
It was easy to find by car and we were able to stop within 20 meters to drop off our suitcases. Free municipal parking was available within easy walking distance and we left the car there.
The hotel was in the ideal location for us; our room was rather basic but we didn't intend to spend much time there. The shower hose leaked like a sieve but the manager changed it for a new one asap. The room looked into the narrow, busy street below and there was a great view from the roof terrace if you want to see the harbour while sipping a cool beer.
Very friendly and helpful staff and an interesting breakfast in the street added to our enjoyment.
Interestingly, we had planned to drop off the hire car in Chania town as we didn't need it for the last two days; in the event, it was cheaper to keep the car and drop it off at the airport on departure thus paying an extra two days hire charge but avoiding a drop off charge for the town, and a taxi fare out to the airport. We hired from Greenways in Remythnon at 20 Euros a day all in.

Room Tip: The rooftop rooms look great but might be very hot in summer. Choose a street side room in any case...

Somehowe I made a mistake filling in our arrival date - the same day I made the reservation, meaning the next day - and even though I immediately got an email back asking what our time of arrival would be, I still not noticed my failure.
When we arrived the next day it took some time to figure things out but eventually everything was sorted out and they forgave me!

So, in two words: very helpful. But one advice: take the top room with sea view. It's great!

Room Tip: Take one of the two sea room views on the top floor.

Though the staff is very friendly and the location very good (old town)I can't say that we would go back or recommend this hotel. We requested double beds but nothing. We requested 2nd floor rooms but nothing again. The balcony of the room faced the wall and that was extremely depressing!Only good thing was the bakery across the street! I think this hotel needs improvement and renovating touch-ups.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a front balcony (there are only 4 or 6 i think)
