I agree with previous reviewers that this is a great pastry shop, for its type it is one of the best in Chania. The cakes are a mixture of Greek and perhaps French inspired style. The quality of the cakes is above average and they have a nice selection, apple crumble tart, chocolate tart, chocolate mousse, baklava, galaktaboureko etc. They serve excellent coffee and real hot chocolate too. They usually have a savoury option such as cheese or spinach pies. Cakes cost from €2.50 to €3.50 and are well worth it. Equal to the quality of the food is the atmosphere. Inside, it is reminiscent of a French or Belgian patisserie beautifully decorated with red paint and dark wood but it does not feel unduly dark. There are only a few tables inside but I guess in summer they have pavement tables. The owners are very welcoming and even sent us on our way with a small gift. For us residents, it is useful to know they open throughout the winter as well as during the summer, every day. This is a superior place to stop for coffee and/or a sweet in the old town, you will not be disappointed. It is just 50m from the cathedral on Xalidon. We will definitely be visiting again.
