“Charming small taverna, excellent value”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

A “traditional” taverna with mother cooking in the kitchen and daughter managing front of house. Very informal, taking a look at what is cooking tonight is a welcome option. Choice of wine is simple - red or white (we chose the red and very drinkable). Very happy with all the food selections we made – and this will be half the price of any other dinner your have in Chania! Worth looking out for, as is – incidentally – Kousina across the road which is a brilliant lunch option.

“Excellent - second visit”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

Visited last year and the food and service here is still great! The food is filling but light - not too greasy as at some other restaurants. Has a homemade feel to it. Service: very welcoming and gentle.

“Excellent home cooked Cretan food”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

For the best food in Chania you need to get away from the more touristy harbour front. Christiana's is 5-10 mins walk from the harbour and is an absolute gem. Everything is prepared by Maria, Christiana's mother, and is the best traditional Greek food you will find. It is also very reasonably priced - three of us had more than we could eat and a litre of wine for 40 euros - a bargain. Go and find this restaurant ( it is next door to the also excellent Splanzia Hotel), you will not be disappointed! There are lots of other good restaurants in this area so well worth checking it out.

“Warm welcome and good food”
Reviewed May 24, 2014

I was jet-lagged and hungry at around 10:30 a.m., well before the restaurant was scheduled to open. The chef, Christianna's mother, saw me looking inside, unlocked the door, and invited me in. She took me to the kitchen and showed me what was cooking, and told me to have a seat. A few minutes later, out came an excellent plate of moussaka, along with spinach and black-eyed peas.
Wonderful food and hospitality!

“Great 1st experience of Cretan visioned”
Reviewed May 7, 2014 via mobile

We went to Christianna's on recommendation of Monastiri Boutique Hotel where we were staying. Very warm welcome from her and we had a simple, very flavoursome pork dish cooked by her mother, which included superbly cooked, crisp potato chips The delicious, crusty bread was baked by her uncle and the house red was very drinkable. A restaurant well worth visiting.
