Good area to stroll around, like the town, it has a new/old mix with some great sites, cafes and eateries.

Coming to the Old Venetian Harbor is done by way of small streets or alleys. The view that awaits you upon arriving at it is wonderful. Typically the sky is bright blue, just like the Greek flag and the sounds of the waves lapping against the ancient seawall and walkway are good for the soul! The harbor is a feast for the eyes as shops, restaurants and other attractions. It's a great place to take a picture, have an expresso or meal and simply let life slow down for a little while.

This harbour is old and quaint and it is also extensive. As you walk around it towards the lighthouse at the end, you pass shops and cafes that build an atmosphere of Mediterranean happiness and relaxation. The cafes are reasonably priced and the food is generally of good quality. The shops sell the usual cheap jewellery, scarves and holiday stuff, but there is also a very good bookshop and a high end clothes shop selling lovely draping linen outfits. Round the far side of the harbour are some places to swim beneath the walls. You could easily spend a day just walking around he waters edge exploring the aforementioned oiutlets. There are also horse and cart rides which go around the harbour walls and explore the old town further away from the waters edge.

A delightful area with some great back street restaurants , those facing the harbour have great views but mass catering seems to be the main operation going on here, lots of faded pictures of steak and chips, souvlaki etc. Dotted amongst the cafes and tavernas are Fish nibbling foot spa' and endless tat gift shops. The better shops are located behind the main promenade. Avoiding the masses of visitors around the harbour promenade is diificult until early evening when the beauty of the architecture can be appreciated over a glass of local wine . Stunning but very busy.
