“Nice little restaurant”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Its a nice little restaurant in the old city .
Romantic atmosphere in the tiny street and in the shadow of an old minaret.
Mesogiako offers honest food and its value for money.
Excellent mussels and pork with honey.
excellent desert for free.
We will be back.

“An excellent Mediteranean fusion”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

Mesogiako is a small restaurant located in a back street near the large minaret tower.
I am usually very sceptical about fusion food. But, they manage to cook excellent Greek food with some surprising twists.
I had a wonderful traditional Ntakos (bread crust with tomatos, cheese, olive oil and herbs) and a chicken fileto with dried tomatos and feta. At the end of the meal I had a free pana-cota flavoured with masticha and covered with cherry glyko koutaliou.

“Colorful, Eastern-Mediterranean cuisine”
Reviewed July 28, 2012 via mobile

Chania has more than a few restaurants that, instead of building a reputation for serving delightful food, are in the business of dishing up forgettable meals to undiscerning tourists. In Chatzimichali Daliani Street, however, you'll find several tavernas with real character and with a menu interesting enough to attract Greek travelers and local diners. One of them is Mesogeiako ("Mediterranean"), which offers colorful Eastern-Mediterranean cuisine. We very much liked the Syrian hot salad and the soutzoukakia (meatballs) in sweet tomato sauce. We were, however, less enthusiastic about the shrimps in orange sauce and the house white wine.
