We stayed at the Minoa Hotel for 4 nights. We booked a suite-or a triple bedroom (it's practically the same) hoping that we'll get some extra space and, maybe, amenities.
The hotel is located in downtown Chania, very near the Old Town (it's an easy 5-minute walk). Although the hotel's entrance faces a busy commercial street with lots of traffic, the rooms are quiet because they look towards the municipal gardens (back side of the hotel).
The hotel has a small indoor parking in the basement convenient only for small cars with lots of horsepower (since it's very difficult to climb the exit ramp...)
Beware: this is not a new hotel, as its website advertises. The reception area is nice and renovated but the rooms are old with dated furniture. Actually, it's a good choice for travelers who would like to go back to the early 80s...At least that's how we felt when we entered the room.
Unfortunately, the furniture is not the only part that reminds you of the 80s. The air-con system is really old and does not function properly. During our stay there was a heatwave and the a/c was unable to cool down the room. So we ended up taking cold showers in the middle of the night in order to relieve ourselves from the heat. Unacceptable for a three star hotel...
Overall, it was a very bad experience and we do not recommend it.
