Perfect location, historical building with character, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, good breakfast. Great value for the rate. Certainly recommended for couples or singles. No lift for higher floors, in case one is not fit. Great choice for low-mid budget in the magical old town of Chania.

I loved this hotel. The building itself is full of historical character inside and out, it's a few steps away from the old harbourside, and is a great base to explore Chania. The rooms are in lovely Cretan style, quiet, nicely equipped and spacious. Fabulous breakfasts prepared lovingly by the staff started the day very well indeed. The staff themselves deserve a special mention .... Don't always find such a nice group of people as this...helpful, kind, good at their job, and utterly charming! Would go again in a heartbeat. Janie Neild

Room tip: Talk to the staff...they are very helpful and will tell you the differences between rooms

To visit Chania is to be transported back centuries and I can think of no better hotel to stay in than the equally historic Colombo. If you are reluctant to climb stairs request a room on the lower floors, but if the climb is not a problem, go for the view. The dining area for breakfast was marvelous. The stone walls the arched ceiling and fresh home-grown fruit to top the treats.

Room tip: If you are reluctant to climb stairs request a room on the lower floors.

The hotel is in a perfect place inside the old city, only 20 meters from the old port. You can go everywhere by foot. The room #1 is perfect with good and clean bathroom and generally is very big with tall walls. That's it with the good part.
Now the big problem is that the walls are made, probably by paper. You can here almost everything. From the reception until the next road. I would not recommend to anyone that comes for resting and sleeping good enough. The preparation for the rooms start at 7:30 and you can here every discussion between the managers and the cleaning guys. When someone is going through the stairs, it's like he is walking inside the room.
The last thing is that the room is very sunny, with 3 windows without curtains so that you can wake up very early! At least guys you can give the opportunity for someone to darken the room if he wants it.

We decided to take a trip to Chania and looking for hotels we found this one. Its a good hotel which makes you feel cozy.the room was clean and nice.nothing special.its good for 1 or 2 nights. The stuff is welcoming and helpful. What dissapointed me is that they sold us a seaview room for 58 euros but what i found in the room where two windows from where you could hardly see a small piece of sea. We could Just take a non seaview room it could be the same.
