Owner description: Chania Old Town Walks offers an original way to explore this historically fascinating city through a three hour private walking tour accompanied by a resident archaeologist and historian. The city's past from Minoan times to the Ottoman Turkish period comes alive as we see Chania’s Minoan ruins, its elegant Venetian and Turkish townhouses, its beautifully restored synagogue, as well as mosques, churches, narrow, winding alleyways, tree-lined squares and other hidden gems.

“wonderful town and sooo italian old harbour”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

we stayed near Heraklion and went by bus to Chania for a day trip. After walking on the old town and the market were you can buy leather at a very nice price, so eager to reach the harbor, we were rewarded. The harbor was more than we expected. Comfortable shoes an a good camera and here you are. Wonderful view, wonderful restaurants.

“Go it alone”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Its a lovely harbour area. Not too busy at the beginning of October. We didn't bother with anything organised - we just explored all the narrow streets and harbour.

“A brilliant overview of Chania's history”
Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

My husband, sister, and I took a walking tour with Alex on our first full day in Chania. Alex showed up at our hotel promptly and we were off on our first adventure in Crete. Instead of a physical adventure, it was an intellectual one. Alex has structured her tour very thoughtfully to show how remnants of Chania's history are present in the physical architecture, ruins, and building details. We saw so much that we would have walked by without noticing: Minoan ruins, Remnants of Venetian and Byzantine walls, old Venetian houses, old Muslim and Jewish neighborhoods, churches used for various purposes. The tour was brilliant and so was Alex. The cost of 75 euros seemed paltry for all we got out of the tour. We added a generous tip to show our appreciation. It was great.

“Old town experience”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Loved everything about Chania's old town but it wasn't easy to stroll and enjoy this romantic area with an active toddler.
