The Folklore Museum gives you a taste of Crete yesteryear. It is a recreation of a typical Cretan house that comprises some great exhibits. it is well worth a visit.

“Lovely little gem”
Reviewed June 15, 2012

Poke behind this busy shopping street or search to find the sign off Halidon Street and your perseverance will be rewarded. This tiny museum is housed in an old Chaniot residence and is chock a block full of history. It's a little gem and well worth visiting for a complete change of pace. It's well worth the visit!

“Dusty little exhibits”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

Odd little homemade museum. Not much to see. The highlight was the poto album of local people through the years.

“Good effort, but small and crammed place.”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

Its a nice collection, but because its set up in an old venitian era house, its small and not so convenient to go around. But the collection itself is very nice.

“Strange house”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

A very interesting short visit - a funny old house, full of old Cretan bric a brac. Most rooms resemble an old cretan house, but there are some quite spooky diaramas with papier mache rustic old folk doing folk arts and crafts. It is pretty weird but worth a look. A nice old lady sits sewing impressive local textiles, and she'll let you in to her old fashioned world of puppets. Would be a creepy place to find yourself locked in by mistake...
