“Beautiful hotel, excellent service and delicious breakfast”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Casa Delfino is a beautiful hotel with great, but calm location. The service is really excellent, and the staff is very friendly and dedicated. The rooms are kept very clean. Breakfast in the courtyard is just wonderful, and the highlight of the day.

It is a lovely ,elegant hotel - quiet and peaceful, but only a walk away from the harbour front. The courtyard is very striking and looks fantastic when lit up at night. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. We were given good information - particularly about which restaurants to try. Lovely personal service, but not imposing. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was very good , with a nice range of Cretan pastries to try. The view from the roof top of the hotel is superb and worth a look. Having vacated our room earlier in the day,we were delighted to be offered the gorgeous Spa to shower and change in before our evening departure to the airport. It was a welcome and very nice gesture.

Our bathroom looked rather worn and tired. The bath and bath surround in particular looked quite badly water stained and had a rather grubby and mouldy appearance .The shower was difficult to control and resulted in water leaking on the floor. For a hotel of this standard generally, it was quite a disappointment and looked like it needed refurbishing.

We did enjoy our stay though and would certainly recommend the hotel.

We made a last minute reservation to stay here for 2 nights while in Chania. The entire establishment was very relaxing and comfortable. The staff are fantastic, the grounds beautiful (including the 3 story cactus), the breakfast delicious and healthy (combination of tasty Cretan fare and fresh continental). We opted for a nicer room, it being our honeymoon. It was surprisingly quiet and the bed ample and comfortable. It turned out that the room also had its own ham-mam (which we did not use). The establishment also has an opulent spa that my wife and I both recommend.

Room Tip: Note that the best parking for accessing the hotel is a public lot next to the sea wall on the west...

Casa Delfino is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are very nice, the location is wonderful and the service levels are very high (Stella was especially helpful). The Cretan breakfast is extensive and delicious. Check out the wonderful roof terrace.

The customer service here is out of this world! Casa Delfino has, without a doubt, some of the friendliest, most helpful and accomodating staff I've ever been around. It was really outstanding!

The room, #6, was large, had appeared to be fairly recently renovated. The main building has a very modern interior finish with glass and a slowly winding staircase. You can tell that the management has spent a great deal of money remodeling the interiors fairly recently. We didn't make use of it, but there was a really beautiful looking spa that you could use for treatments. Had we stayed longer, I might have booked something there.

Breakfast was incredible! They had such a spread! Around 10AM, the whole place was packed! But it runs from 7-11 (though the hours are definitely flexible for extention) and has lots of options, plus the staff made some folks special egg dishes.

Cannot recommend Casa Delfino highly enough. It was a real gem!

Everything we needed, the staff at Casa Delfino anticipated and met: a cab, excellent dinner suggestions, a kind word, breakfast before breakfast service and fold down service to name a few. Chania was our last stop, and thanks to everyone at Casa Delfino, it did not disappoint. In fact, Chania shined because our stay at the hotel was so pleasant.
The hotel is very well situated and close to all of the attractions in Chania. If you wish to explore Crete as we did, you can arrange to rent a car right at the front desk of the hotel (no need to bother with the local rental agencies) and set off on your adventure steps from the entrance. In one day, we made it most of the way to the Samaria Gorge and visited Fallasarna (spelling?) beach, a once in a lifetime beach. Casa Delfino really is the perfect place. When we return to Chania, we will stay there. We loved it!

Room Tip: We were in the presidential suite, I believe. It was very spacious and the bathroom was well appoint...

As a special treat we booked Casa Delfino at the end of our holiday and it did not disappoint. Situated close to the old harbour it is accessed down a narrow street. The rooftop terrace which was furnace like during the day gives you great views of the many restaurants surrounding the old harbour. As soon as you walk in the staff make you feel welcome, mixing high standards of service with relaxed informality. Our split level suite was beautifully furnished, great jacuzzi bath and excellent shower and very comfortable beds, plus some very efficient air conditioning. Breakfast, served in the courtyard was wonderful. Highly recommended and very hard to beat on location as well as everything else.
