We go to Vineria on a very regular basis due to its fantastic food, excellent wine selection and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Bear in mind though that Vineria is not a restaurant per se, it sells various dishes to complement the wine you are drinking. If you are after something light, it is more than suitable; however, if you are after a restaurant-type meal, you best go elsewhere. It is located on a little side street just off one of the main thoroughfares and the management have done it up so that it appears like an elegant French/Italian bistro with a semblance of a private courtyard. The waiters know their stuff when it comes to wine and their wine list has to be the best in Chania! All the food is organic, fresh and made-to-order, including the pasta. You can select the cheeses and cold-cuts for your cheese/meat platters from the deli within the restaurant. If you are planning on going on Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, it is best you make a reservation as the restaurant holds only 36 people indoors, and it does get quite busy. If you are a wine lover, then this is your best place in Chania. If you are not, then you will be converted!
