“Delightful hotel, excellently located”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

The hotel is located on the eastern harbourfront, across from the busier, western side (with the fort), and thus lies in a quieter environment. However, all parts of the harbour are easily reached by a short walk. Building and rooms are immaculate and modern and the hotel has a parking lot behind (very useful if you have a rented car). Fine sea/harbour views available. Staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. Breakfast is excellent but could be improved by having self-service coffee (instead of waitress service).

Just spent two nights in this lovely hotel in a town that has become one of our favorites! Chania! And to think, we had never heard of it before coming to Crete and we are well traveled. Truly an enchanting old Venetian port town, this hotel enjoys the pefect vantage point from which to enjoy the stunining view. And, it's at the quieter side of the port, a bit away from the "action" yet still close to everything you want. The hotel itself has just been recently renovated and is in prime condition. Everything is perfectly delightful, even though the rooms are a bit on the small side. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the beds as comfy as they come and the breakfast is bountiful and tasty! It's a great value and we'd return anytime. The staff was kind enough to present me with a free bottle of Cretan wine for my birthday, which we greatly appreciated.

Room Tip: Spend the little extra for the balcony!

being by the harbour, close to the 'old town' of Hania.....friendly helpful staff and excellent value for money. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel, the generous breakfast. This was not our first stay at this hotel and we were as impressed this time as were last time when we stayed with friends. All going well, we hope to stay here again on our next visit to Hania.

Room Tip: rooms with a harbour view and balcony...so you can relax and soak up the atmosphere on a starry nigh...

Sea and harbour view from the balcony set the tone of this clean, stylish and welcoming hotel. Everything was first rate and nothing was too much trouble. The staff are excellent. The room although small had a great view (worth the extra). Breakfast was very good with many local temptations, although getting a cup of coffee was a slow process as it was the only part of the service that was done by the waitress. An evening ouzo sitting at the edge of the harbour was a delightful way to wind down.

We stayed here in October 13. The place is just brilliant. The rooms are well decorated, very clean and nicely appointed. The ones on the seafront are just everything you could ever want in a hotel. they look out onto the old harbour. This hotel in a very very short walk from the rest of the old town which makes it quieter and in our view nicer as their are not restaurants directly in front of it. The food especially, the breakfast is good, plus a free mini-bar of soft drinks. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Chania especially as parking is excellent around it. The staff, service and overall customer focus of the hotel is something many other hotels could learn from. The free cycle use is another plus point. We both agreed we have not stayed in a hotel of this quality for a long time.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get a room as close to the seafront as possible, although all rooms are quiet and...

Our staying in porto veneziano hotel was an amazing experience. It's the best place to start your day by taking breakfast in front of the beautiful old harbour of Chania, and to finish it in the comfortable beds (Cocomat bed matresses). It is really worth to mention the friendliness of the personell, the 24-hours of services and the continuous refill of the mini-bar without charge. It;s sure that i will stay again in this hotel the next time i will visit beautiful Chania!

The Porto Veneziano hotel in Chania Crete is one of the very best hotels we have stayed for 4 nights should have stayed for at least a week. The location by the water in the harbour, and next to dozens of tavernas made this a great holidays. The hotel and accomodation had just been totally renovated was first class, views, position, service, great breakfast and manager/owners have owned this site since the second world war. Sotiri & PAULA Zammit , Australia.

Room Tip: A room with balcony in front facing the harbour.
