Though the restaurant seems ordinary, the food is very extraodinary ! The chef is very friendly, and apparently takes a great pleasure in cooking and presenting his menu. The food was very fresh, and very tasty. Furthemore, this restaurant is located away from the more touristic center, and we could enjoy a very quiet meal. Finally, the prices are more than reasonable ! Overall, this is a very nice and welcom change from all the similar greek restaurants one can find in Crete, and is definitely worth a visit.

We ate every evening during our visit to Chania at Stelios vegetarian restaurant - delightful typical cretan dishes, very well prepared, tasteful and lovely prepared from the starters to the desserts, mountain tea with thym honey.... and an owner who made this experience exceptional: Stelios is friendly, a passionate "chef de cuisine"; he shares plenty of information about Cretan cooking, wild plants and the surroundings of Chania. Forget the offer on the written menu, he will ask you to see the fresh dishes in the kitchen and he will suggest a meal to experience several typical dishes of the region, respecting your personal wishes and preferences.
This was without any doubt the best restaurant we visited during our two week holidays in Crete. Its a little bit hidden outside the typical touristic old town - but worth an evening stroll along the harbor - don't mind passing all this touristic tavernas at the venetian harbour - Stelios cooking and friendly wellcome is worth to bypass all these standard touristic restaurants during the little walk to his place - enjoy !

Stelios is clearly a man who loves cooking and loves people. He took us into his kitchen and showed us everything on the stove and gave us tastes. We came back the next day and he served us a feast, with many stories and explanations, all made with healthy, organic ingredients. We have recommended this place to everyone going to chania, and hope to go back some day. Thank you stelios for the great food and the great experience.

Stelios is a gentleman who cooks very well. His passion for quality ingredients and cooking shines through. My wife is gluten-sensitive and Stelios confidently managed her needs. The dining room is bright and basically decorated. The food was excellent, a little more expensive than other restaurants we ate at, but very good value nonetheless.

A lovely meal, on the advice of Stelios, sitting in the shade, overlooking the bay.

Just a little surprised to be charged 15c for bread! Never happened to us before in Crete.
