Doloma is a traditional, family run taverna, on the street Kalergon, just behind the old shipyards. It offers great value for money, and serves dishes which vary slightly from day to day, but usually include beef, pork and fish, as well as traditional boureki, moussaka, and much more; all washed down with the delicious house white!
DO NOT make the mistake of basing your decision on the menu posted outside. Although extensive, the real recommendation is to be found in the warming cabinets just inside the doors.
There, all of the days' dishes are on display with further explanation or clarification, if any is necessary, by the owner. This is also an opportunity to see the high standards maintained in the kitchen.
Completely devoid of all the fuss and "pushiness" of some of the bigger restaurants, Doloma is a peaceful oasis of great food and value, and should not be missed.

A lovely taverna with an outdoor terrace in the shade. Faultless traditional cooking served by an attentive and friendly owner, all very good value. We were surprised by a complimentary traditional dessert kataifi (a couple of lovely "angel hair" pastries with honey and nuts inside), followed by a bowl of cool cherries! So much nicer than all those mediocre places on the harbour-side!

we read the reviews and searched as soon as we arrived from England this week , found it just as described, excellent lamb and fish courses, big portions too, complimentary sweet and superb coffee afterwards. The overview of the kitchen and explanation of courses beforehand was a lovely touch by the very nice staff . Nice to see the big black grinning dog wandering around, and we fed the cats too, if anyone sees that scruffy looking black cat please give it some of your food it looked very hungry ( I know it might not be good for the owners to have the whole neighbourhood of cats turning up but it added to our enjoyment to give some mouthfuls to the deserving ones...not the greedy dog though even though it did smile when we did so ! ) Don't waste money on the seafront tourist traps, this place is the real deal for a reasonable price compared to elsewhere .

Authentic, simple, great food. As others have written, we were also invited into the kitchen to have a look at the food, which is a nice way to select. It also shows that the owners have "nothing to hide". The desert which comes with the raki was excellent!
