So very, very tasty. Couldn't fault a thing. We had 2 starter dishes, a salad and one main between two of us which was almost too much but delicious.
Take cash for payment, although there is an autoteller ( thankfully) a few mins walk away.
A hidden gem.

Well of the Turk was one of our best meals in Crete. The restaurants location is lovely, the outdoor seating is charming and the food is delightful. We loved their moroccan lamb dish, the squash blossoms, the croquettes... we ordered a bunch of small plates to share and except for the shrimp dish (a bit uninspiring) everything was spectacular. The house wine was simple and great with the food, the Baklava was one of the best we've had in Greece (not too soggy and dense but light and flaky!). We had such a wonderful time there, it'll be remembered as one of our best meals in Crete.

My second time at this wonderful restaurant. I understand the restaurant is now under new ownership, with Elina running the ship and Jenny still about to support. A change not to worry about as I understand Elina has been there for many years and is the very essence of this first class establishment. I am glad to report the food is still absolutely wonderful. I love the stuffed courgette flowers and I have to say the meatballs are some of the best I have eaten in Greece. Meanwhile the salads are fresh - my firm favourite is the orange and avocado salad - so fresh and clean and a perfect accompaniment to any meat dish. All this in the stunning old town of Chania. I have eaten in many places in Greece but have to say this is certainly one of the best,if not the best,I have experienced.

Had 2 excellent meals at this Turkish restaurant which has some greek-type dishes and a few more middle-eastern foods like baba ganoush, humous etc. As vegetarians we had more choice than usual in this taverna and it was a welcome change. Nicely presented, tasty food, mixed and matched hot and cold mezzes, and it was good, friendly service too.Nice quiet area too in a little courtyard. It is tricky to find so get on their web-site and make a note of the address! Superb.

Returned once again to the Well of the Turk to find the new owners firmly in control of this delightful restaurant. Elina, who's been with the Well for many years is now in charge and running the restaurant perfectly. Small changes to the menu have added new dishes and some new twists to established recipes but the old favorites are all still there. We ate with a group of 8 and had a selection of dips and salads (the orange-avocado was full of fresh flavours), octopus in a tangy & tasty sauce which we fought over to dunk our bread into the last of the juices! The stuffed courgette flowers had a lovely creamy filing but were light and well seasoned with herbs. Lahmacuns (Turkish pizza) were served hot and crisp with a good spicy topping, drizzled with a yoghurt sauce & fresh green herbs. The food was really very good and jumping with flavours. Local barrels wines (which were definitely far better than some house wines we've sampled in other establishments) washed this lovely meal down and kept the conversation buzzing. The service was bright and efficient - all pretty girls, constantly smiling and being helpful. So congratulations to Elina and her family for keeping this restaurant, in its pretty setting, up to its wonderful standard as being quite the best place to eat in Chania town. Apparently the restaurant is now open for lunch too, which is good news - we'll definitely be back.
