Went there last evening. Was an awesome experience. The host, the server, the music and the food are all really great. Must visit to enjoy a truly Cretan experience and meal

Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and clay plates and glasses and in the back alley. Food was poore made for mass tourisme. This is not a place for people who care for food.

Having seen the reviews on trip advisor, we decided to seek out To Xani.

Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed, and found the restaurant to be a bit of a tourist trap.

We found the food to be overpriced compared to all the other meals we had eaten in the area and the food was not great, and having eaten amazing food in Monastiri on the harbour, we really wished we had returned, rather than using Trip Advisors recommendations on this occasion....

This was my first visit to To Xani...the food was good. The atmosphere was amazing...wonderful live entertainment while I ate. Worth a visit....make sure you try the Tortu. Very flavorful.

Thank you. I believe you refer to the Tourta-a local dish- lamb and cheese and mint pie.

My partner google searched and found this wee gem. He visited and met the owners before we arrived a couple of times being the 'tripadvisor nerd'. We went for dinner and everything was better than expected. The owner Dimitris was great with a bussel of basil herbs behind his ear and a tea towel over the shoulder greeting and farewelling patrons. His wife from aussie was lovely. The girl at the entrance did a fabulous job pulling in people and selling the resturant.....she needs a pay rise!! The live music was awesome and added to the atmosphere but the best thing of all was the wee three year old greek dancing to the music. He was super cute, slapped the floor, arms in the air like a pro greek dancer. He should be on the payroll. Thanks to all for a good night and for the blanket when it got cold, great service. Well done. From the two New Zealanders by the door.
PS....loved how the menu stated 'local house wine by the kilo'....too funny!

Thanks a lot . I do remember you both! By the way, the 3 year old dancer was a customer just like yourselves, enjoying the music!!!
