Beautifully located in the old town of Hania, a very romantic setting with live greek music, playing as you dined outdoors.
Very good service, my partner had stifado which was nice and I had lamb kleftico which was disappointingly 'bitty' lamb. They were extremely busy, I thought maybe they had ran out. It was not as expected for the standard of the restaurant.
Saying that, I would give it another go, purely due to its magical ambience.

To Xani is definitely one of the best restaurants in Old Chania. The service was prompt and the food delivered quickly. It's a lovely outside setting directly across from the Synagogue entrance. The quality of the food excellent and the music was a nice touch. There are several restaurants to choose from in this area, you can't go wrong with this one.

The food was excellent, the place is very romantic and peaceful. While we have been there the restaurant was full nevertheless the service was very good. The prices are rather high but I think it is still value for money.

This is certainly one of the better restaurants my boyfriend and I visited here in Chania. The service was relaxed but the staff were very friendly and didn't hesitate to help with any of the questions we had about the food (they clearly know the menu well). The overall surroundings of the restaurant were very nice - low key lighting and felt quite intimate especially with the live music (not too loud) being played. I suggest you call up in advance and ask for a table near the music if you want to feel fully immersed with the live music.

In terms of food, I had the lamb with yoghurt which was delicious and very tender and my boyfriend had the chicken stiffado, again a really nice dish (We also asked if we could swap chips for baked potatoes and this was no issue). The slice of almond cake with mellon was the best complimentary dessert we have been given by any restaurant here.

Overall I recommend trying this restaurant out.

Thank you very much. The lamb with yoghurt is a Turkish/Cretan dish, not commonly found.

We had heard and read good things but our experience was not so good. This was the least enjoyable overall experience we have had over 5 days in Chania restaurants which was a surprise. Front of house is very welcoming but the service is not so good and the food adequate but not exciting. The setting is quite nice but you feel disconnected from things if they put you at the extremes of the open air layout they have.

I am sorry you felt " left out"" because you sat at one end of the courtyard--Many people choose to sit at either end as they like the view and quiet.
