I read lots of reviews of this place before leaving on our trip to Greece, and had high expectations of the restaurant, so we were both disappointed by the experience. I gave it a "4" though, because the the mezes were terrific, although the main dishes were not so great. We ate a second time, and had a similar experience. It's a comfortable and casual place, with an open interior space which is warm and attractive, and we found the service good. I wouldn't want to sit outside, though, as it's along a narrow pedestrian pathway!
From my notes after our first dinner, I wrote:
"Ate at Tamam and had waaay too much. We ordered 3 mezes- each terrific: fried zucchini fritters fried potatoes w/ warm local cheese, and marinated anchovies. Delicious -- shoud've stopped there. We also ordered lamb chops and a veal dish with pureed eggplant. The lamb chops were tough and the veal wasn't to my liking. We were super stuffed by the time we left. Nice though, they gave us a raki and semolina dessert on the house, neither one of which could we finish."
