“Great food, Great location”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

We stayed in Chania two nights at either end of our one week trip to Crete and decided to eat at Tamam both nights. The food is great, Tomato Croquettes & the warm staka especially! The service could have been slightly better although I would highly recommend it.

“Amazing food, friendly staff”
Reviewed October 19, 2012 via mobile

We went here twice. Definitely some of the best food in Chania in the middle price range.
Had lovely wines and usual Cretan dishes.

“Greek (Cretan) Pie speciality”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

Recommended by our hotel hosts for the traditional Cretan Pie. Tried it in 2005 and again in October 2012. Just as delicious both times but beware: one is probably enough for 2 people to share. We had the pie with the Tamam Salad - thinly sliced veggies with avocado, yoghurt and walnuts; again one is enough for two people. Outside tables are always in demand on a street with a lot of pedestrian traffic. Get there early for an outside table

“A change from Portes”
Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

I normally eat around the corner at Portes but decided to give Tamam a go on Saturday night. It's mid October but Chania is still busy, the restaurant full when we asked for a table. Four big guys but a small table with rickety whicker chairs and little room between us and the adjacent tables. We ordered the avocado salad and it was delicious as was the Iranian rice, pies, meatballs and mixed vegetable fritters. Including 1.5 litres of very good (for Crete) house red the bill plus tip came to €80. We only had a selection of starters (no main courses) and wine and although not cheap it is close to the harbour and that usually means tourist prices.

Would I go back, definitely? Is it a good as Portes around the corner, probably not but a good change, if not a little pricey, and something different for the tourist wishing to looker further afield than souvlaki.

“Excellent food and great service”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

If you want to dine at Tamam, better reserve a table. The greek food with a certain turkish touch is great.
