We ate here on a recent trip to Chania, and had a great experience overall. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and we were lucky enough to reserve one of the tables right next to the water/marina. It was peaceful and serene, and a lovely setting for a meal. Overall the food was very good, and all of us enjoyed what we ate. Service was also excellent, and our waitress, Anastasia, did an outstanding job - she was warm, attentive and kind. Recommended.

We had dinner twice as we loved the food and the view. Price is cheap and you get small dessert and local spirit for free.

The trip advisor reviews attracted us to this restaurant and so we booked a table and were pleased to be located Quay side.
Anastasia our waitress was on the ball immediately and maintained good service throughout the evening. Started with vegetable salad, stuffed zucchini flowers, smoked fish meze, tatziki. Mains sea bream stuffed with olives, tomatoes and peppers and baked in paper. Chicken skewers and Tuna steak. All very good.
Complimentary dessert yogurt tart with dried grapes. Complimentary drinks Raki which we don't like but no alternative offered unlike other restaurants who at least offer Ouzo.
All in all a nice dining experience although could not quite give it a five star rating which other diners appear to do.

Had a recommendation from a guidebook (DK Top 10 Crete) that listed this as a number 1 - we completely agree! Wonderful service, a new location (no longer the old harbour so more locals and less tourists in this quiter atmopshere. Great food! Innovative and yet tradional - highly recommend for lunch when in Chania.

We had a really nice evening at Portes. Fantastic location by the beach. Views are fabulous. Fresh fish baked in parchment was gorgeous. Hubby had the most amazing meatballs with cous cous. It was so refreshing to get some nice well flavoured sauces. House wine was lovely. Meal was finished off nicely with complimentary dessert and raki. Staff were so nice. Lovely to meet Suzanna the owner. We didn't get a chance to try her vegan restaurant - Pulse in the old town - which people were raving about. Maybe next time.
