We arrived home on the 14th August after spending 15 nights in room 750 in the village. I can only describe the accommodation as excellent, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully stocked mini bar and very well cleaned every day.

Upon arrival late in the evening, we were greeted by Lena on reception who insisted that we go to the restaurant to eat, whilst luggage was taken to our room. She was a delight, as were all of the reception staff, with nothing too much trouble.

We chose to use the main pool rather than the village pool due to the close proximity to the beach. This area was well maintained daily, and had a very welcome and well used bar serving a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, together with ice cream cones. Marina is fantastic and remembers what you drink. My only complaint is that the beach loungers had to be paid for as it is a public beach.

The main restaurant could get busy later in the evening, but there are outside tables which is where we mostly ate. The food is plentiful and of a very good quality with plenty of choice for all sittings. Puddings to die for so watch the waistline.

The location of the village rooms are across the bridge and up the hill, which means plenty of walking, and steps which may not be suitable for some. Our room had wonderful sea views and on the first morning I watched the sun rise, spectacular.

Our thanks must go to all of the staff for making this a holiday to remember, especially the animation team, lead by Dennis, who together with Francesca, we were very pleased to meet again.

This was our fifth time to an Iberostar hotel, and we will certainly use them again, due to the consistency/quality of the resorts which reflect very well on the management team.

Room Tip: any room in the village which has a sea view

We stayed here last week (Aug 6th) for one week and had the most loveliest time!. We came with our 2 teenage sons and our room was an excellent size with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We were across the road from the hotel and had a shared pool with amazing views. The food choice here is great and always plenty of it! House red wine's not so good but after a few it doesn't taste so bad! Beaches are very clean although grey sand, and water sports are fun here. Plenty of sunbeds free and NO rushing to put your towels on them at 5am in morning!!.This was great!!Staff here friendly and a special 'thank you' to Marina for all my lovely mojitos she made me!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 714...2 bedrooms with fab views and shared pool. Sun on the balcony nearly all day...

Had an excellent stay here last September, the crowds had just left from the summer. We explored the island. This hotel was a perfect location inbetween Elounda and Agios Nickolaos.
We got engaged at the hotel, and the staff put on so much for us, nothing was too much trouble.

Stayed here for 11 nights at the end of July with husband and friends. What a fantastic place, everyone so helpful and friendly, rooms are cleaned to a very high standard every day, fresh flowers in our room daily which was a nice touch. The animation team work so hard to make your stay one that you won't forget in a hurry, a special mention to Ivo and Francesca for all the crazy moments. The food was fantastic and very varied you could easily have something different each night on a two week stay. Went into Alounda and booked the happy train tour we opted for the longer journey which took you to a little villiage in the mountains with breath taking views on the way. All in all a fantastic holiday that we didn't want to leave. Make sure you join in the dance with the animation team, one word of warning though you will be humming the tune in your sleep. Thank you Mirabello for a fantastic holiday.

Room Tip: We had a bay view in the main hotel on the third floor, you could see both of the bays from our balc...

I booked to stay in this hotel in the last week of October last year as a surprise birthday gift for my girlfriend.

After a rather long transfer from Heraklion which was of no fault of the hotel i was immediately impressed with what greeted us as the transfer bus pulled up.

A very impressive hotel facade and warm and attentive staff on hand to help us into the reception area. Upon being greeted by the reception staff, the checking in process was rather straight froward and we were pleasantly informed that the garden view bungalow in the village i had booked for us, had instead been upgraded to a sea view bungalow. Upon being driven via golf buggy to the bungalow the immediate effect of the room upgrade was seen. The view was brilliant and not only was the sea visible but the nearby town of Agios Nikolas. The room itself consisted of two double beds (which we pushed together) a spacious balcony and ample bathroom space. Also we had a fully stocked mini bar which, as we were on the all inclusive package was topped up daily and we were not charged for any of the drinks, but the chocolate and crisps were a chargeable extra, but we found we did not need them anyway.

The hotel restaurant was down a set of steep stairs and although there is a lift down to it, it would be worth noting if you find walking difficult or steep climbs, then this hotel is perhaps not quite right for you. Despite all the staff speaking many different languages we were not made to feel bad for not learning a lot of Greek. Despite this hotel featuring on several British travel companies websites, we as brits were certainly in a minority in the hotel, which was quite refreshing for a change.

The food itself could not be complained about. It was set out in a buffet style and offered a wide range of fresh fish and local dishes as well as your standard run of the mill food. Perhaps the only gripe would have been if we had been staying for more than a week, the food could have become repetitive. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in the main restaurant for those guests on the all inclusive package, for those who are not, they have an option of lunch at the pool bar in front of the little hotel shop instead of the main restaurant. Also for those on all inclusive there are freshly made rolls available at the bar to take away, so if you are out and about you can have something to keep you going.

We ate most days in the hotel, but after going exploring as we like to do on holiday we came across a lovely little cocktail bar/ family restaurant, called Diocenis, literally five minutes walk down the road from the hotel. Even if you are on the all inclusive package, pay this little place a visit as the lady who owns it, is a massive draw, as she is the matriarch of her family and will happily talk to you about anything. She does however under charge for the food and drink so we tipped her quite a bit and she did seem positively thrilled. We would certainly go back just to see her and her family again.

As we explored the local area, we also came across the Cretan Olive Oil Farm, right next door to the hotel and another little gem. A tour costs 10 Euro but it is well worth it and the shop sells some brilliant cooking stuff, we especially recommend the potato spices and the fish spices.

After exploring the local area, we did the hotel and its vast grounds as well. The hotel has two little bays and plenty of sun loungers, and although we were told we had to pay for the beach sun loungers, no one ever approached about this but this may have been because we went as the holiday season was coming to a close. There is an outdoor pool by the main hotel building and one pool in the village section as well as a gym and games room there as well. There are some tennis courts in the far left of the resort but they appeared to be in need of repair and perhaps were not all that loved or used. Above the hotel we found what was the old entertainment area complete with a stage as well as (of all things) a small very decorative church. Not being religious at all it may seem strange that we liked it so much but it was rather sweet. Also up there, we found a children's playground, also perhaps not given the love or tlc it needs, but again this could be because it was end of the season as i mentioned earlier.

Overall, a very enjoyable stay and we would love to visit again.

We stayed at the Mirabello for 2 weeks in July. And I have to say this is one of the best holidays we have taken as a family and the most relaxing.

On our arrival after a very early start and a delay at Gatwick, we arrived to a warm welcome from the Reception staff and were also greeted by a gentleman carrying a tray of juice just what we needed.

We were taken with our luggage by club car over to the village where we had booked a maisonette (2 adult and 2 children). The guy carried our luggage up and showed us how to use the air con and safe before he left.

We were so hungry we went straight to dinner and were greeted by a lovely young lady, who was very polite and gave us a warm welcome and sent us off to meet the lovely Valters, who my kids came to love my the end of our holiday and were sad to say goodbye to him. He runs a very good team of waiters, waitresses and chefs. Some of the other guests at the hotel seemed to lack manners and the staff coped with their rudeness very professionally. We never tired of the food, which had a huge variety every meal time. And as for the desserts, all I can say is 'wow', my waistline expanded within a few days!!

The bar staff/waiters & waitresses in all the bars were lovely. They made you feel so welcome and the cocktails were delicious!! My kids loved going up and asking for the kiddy cocktails. There was a huge variety of different drinks on the menu for AI guests. Very pricey if you are only HB. My kids loved the crisps and nuts that came with each drink you ordered and were quite often going back for refills!!

Now onto the entertainment staff.... Absolutely Brilliant!! My kids went to the kids club and both came away loving Maria and Anastasia. They loved putting on a show and having parts and costumes. We loved the club song 'Ai se eu te pego' and have since found it on You Tube. Dennis is so funny and runs a spectacular team, who are all very friendly and lovely.

We found everywhere to be really clean and tidy. And never had a problem getting a lounger around the pools or on the beach.

Our rep Scott was a very friendly Scottish chap, who was easy to chat with and was often at the hotel of an evening and happy to have a chat even thou he was off duty.

The hotel photographer was a lovely lady and took the most amazing photos of our kids. 6 euros a photo, but she quite often gave us more then 1 photo for the 6 euros. I would highly recommend getting her to do a family photo down by the beach.

I could go on and on... But I would highly recommend Mirabello and we will go back in a few years when our kids are older to do a few trips they were too young for this time. Both my husband and I could of easily spent another 2 weeks there.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 721. Great space for a family of 4. And an amazing view to start your day. I neve...

Stayed at the Mirabello during the last two weeks in July, and were very impressed.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless, and fresh flowers were placed in our room every day.
We went on a H/B basis and at one stage considered upgrading to fully inclusive, but as we are only occasional drinkers decided that the 70 euros per day cost was rather expensive for what amounted to paying this much extra for lunch. Instead we lunched at a lovely little taverna fifty metres down the road ( Diogenes ) at a cost of 20 euros for both of us with drinks included.
We spent a lot of time on the beach in front of the hotel, which again was very clean and well maintained. Sunbeds and brollies were plentiful, but not crowded.
It is about a mile into the centre of Agious Nicholias, from the hotel, but taxis both ways are not expensive, and reception were happy to call a taxi whenever required.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will definitely be returning in the future.

Room Tip: Go for a bay view from a high floor. That way you get, the town, the sea, and a great view of the di...
