Whatever I said about the Hotel Lito Tompson Holidays came up trumps. I think that they knew that there were problems with this Hotel and I got a good cash back refund. Thank you Tompson. Although I ticked that I would not recommend this hotel to a friend once it is rebuilt and modernised it could be great. The location is absolutely brilliant.

As other guests have said the climb up the hill to be followed by 50 steps is pretty awful especially in the heat.Had expected a climb but not quite on that scale !!Having said that the views were fantastic and there were some really nice people staying there.
The staff were great & very helpful - some of them were due to leave the following week - sounded as though some had been there for years. We found the food good although admitedly there were some strange mixes. We tended to eat out at lunch time which gave us a change. The weather was awful one day & we opted for all inclusive for that day which at 14 euros each was a good deal. The drinks were just local ones but that didn't really matter for a day.
The rooms were typical greek & the bathrooms were really small but very clean.
There was quite a nice bar area & small balcony but some nights we sat by the pool to avoid the smoke.Athough there is a smoking ban in Greece they are ignoring it.People were allowed to smoke anywhere including at the dinner table - ukk ! Shame there couldn't have been somewhere for those of us who have got used to clean air !
Lovely pool but we understand that it might be altered during the refurb.
Any review probably won't help for future visits as will obviously change.
Olgas nearby was good basic traditional food & we liked to eat & drink at Dionyssis by the lake in Ag Nik.Quite liked the resort - the semi submarine was amazing - saw turtles.

stayed for two weeks last october, had a great time, the staff were great and couldnt do enough for you, yes the meals did get a bit repetative by the second week but they were very tastey and if you didnt fancy what was on the menu they would make you something else, the hill and the steps would be challenging for anyone with disabilities or for the older generation, but its worth it for the excellent view over the sea..the rooms were fine, bathroom small but enough room to do what you needed to do..lol and cleaned everyday

Having booked just a week before we flew out we wasnt sure what to expect.
Well we wasnt dissopointed although there is a few niggles that could well improve the holiday we just returned from.
Ok first the negatives. All Inclussive. No Vodka or barcadi etc. Not even the cheap stuff !
Beer, wine, ouzo and brandy oh and soft drinks thats it. Maybe we are being picky !
Also the brouchure says family run hotel what it should say is WAS !
Maria on reception is great and used to run the hotel with her family. Now its in a chai and is suffering i feel. More staff to man the bar area is a must as you will spend half your time hunting someone down to get a drink.
Yes the rooms are small and if you of a larger build like myself you will struggle in the shower !
Ok other than that its a great hotel. Lovely views when having dinner or lazing by the pool. Every one is friendly and by the end of your holiday you will be megga fit due to the long hill leading to the hotel and the endless steps but all in all you wont be dissopointed there.
Maria its stuboy ! Done forget to let us know how you are !xx

Very Friendly Clean Hotel and Excellent Food and View, Close to the Beach. Situated On the Hill - that needs people who love sport. Travel without kids, it is quiet and romantic place for Adults and it takes 2 km to the beautiful and romantic town Agios Nikolaos with many reszaurants and Interesting Museum etc.

My wife and I have just returned from two weeks at the Lito Hotel our first time in Crete, we had upgraded to All Inclusive prior to the holiday and we were glad that we did as the hotel prices seemed quite high for drinks and food if you were on Half Board.
We stayed in room 402 and the views were stunning, we would recommend this room or 401 next door. As mentioned on earlier reviews the rooms were quite small and the shower could be a bit temperamental but they were spotlessly clean. Air conditioning was well worth it for the two weeks and was payable as an extra direct to the hotel.
All Inclusive worked quite well although at times there seemed to be a shortage of staff and if you wanted a drink from the bar you had to sometimes search for someone to serve you. Food was okay some days better than others, it got a bit repetitive towards the end of the holiday, sweet was mostly chocolate whip with a few slices of orange, but overall we always managed to find something on the menu we liked.
Swimming pool was good with plentiful sunbeds and large canvas umbrellas, only trouble was as time went on the towel brigade started to reserve their sunbeds way before breakfast!!
The hotel was 100 metres from a small pebbly beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, 2 euros for each sunbed and 2 euros for the umbrella, this seemed to be the price throughout the area.
It was about a 45 minute walk into Ag Nik but a bus service ran just outside the hotel 1.5 euros to either Ag Nik or Elounda. We loved Elounda and would love to stay there if we returned to Crete, Elounda had quite a large municipal beach which had a combination of sand and shingle and further around away from the main area there were quieter near deserted beaches.
Spinalonga is worth a visit especially if you have read the book 'The Island'
All in all we had a very relaxing holiday and if the hotel can make the All Inclusive work better we would consider returning. One word of warning, it's a steep approach to the hotel and then several steps to entrance.
