We stayed here for 5 nights in May. Long story but we were lucky enough to be offered a try-out transfer here from its sister hotel the Minos Palace - also a wonderful hotel.
The location is idyllic with wonderful seafront views from both sides of the peninsula it is on. We had a bungalow that was not right on the waterfront but within sight and it was wonderful. Never a problem finding a sunlounger and what a view from the sunlounger when you sat at the waterfront!
The restaurant is all outdoor which will rarely be a problem if the weather is good but we were rather cold on our first night there, however that was the only time. The food is superb. Part waiter service, part buffet.
We've booked to go again next May so that tells you how much we loved it!

Room Tip: Ask for a waterside or near waterside bungalow

Dear Judith,

Thank you very much for coming to Minos Beach and for sharing your experiences with other travellers. We hope you had a pleasant trip home.

We are pleased to read your kind feedback. Your compliments for the whole team are a big motivation to continue giving only the best service to our guests.

Of course our restaurants are mainly concepted to eat outside - either on the terrace in the garden (breakfast and dinner) or on the terraces at the taverna (lunch) or La Boullabaisse (Gourmet Restaurant for dinner) with their stunning seaviews. But in case we have bad or cold weather in May or October, we also have indoor facilities.

It was a big pleasure to welcome you and we are very happy to see you again next year!

With best regards,
Yours sincerly

my husband and i have just returned from a week at this hotel.we were half board. we booked a waterfront bungalow. unfortunately the room whilst located on the waters edge had a road with a few bars on not far away.the music could be heard until the early hours. we complained in the morning and were offered an alternative without any problem. the hotel is in a idylic location within easy waling distance of ag nik. the food was good and varied and the staff efficient, elena is a credit to the hotel chain. there are plenty of places to sit and chill with a lovely pool area that was never full.the hotel is not really geared up for kids with few amenities . the few that were there spent most of the days chasing cats.we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in beautiful surroundings with excellant weather

Room Tip: get a waterfront bungalow as near to reception as poss. the far ones are nearest to the bars

Dear Motty,

Thank you very much for chosing Minos Beach and for sharing your opinion with other travellers. We hope you had a smooth flight home and did not forget to take some Cretan sun with you.

It's nice to see, that you found the relaxation you were looking for. Indeed in Minos Beach you find a lot of quiet spaces with lots of privacy, which are inviting to relax and to enjoy.

Please accept again our sincere apologies for the inconveniences during the first night. Unfortunately we cannot really influence the bars outside from the hotel. Although these bars are not directly by or near the hotel, sometimes the wind is bringing the noise to some rooms of the hotel. We were glad to help you out with another room in quieter location.

For us, it was a pleasure to welcome you and we hope to see you again!

With best regards,
Yours sincerly

Just returned from a fabulous holiday at Minos Beach Art Hotel. Idyllic location , beautiful bungalow with views over the bay. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. A request for an upgrade of accommodation was dealt with personally by the manager (Mr. Taboukis) who was nothing but charming and helpful. Reception staff Katerina and Maria are delightful and our waiter (Pediandros) was extremely attentive to our needs. The food in the Bacchus Restaurant was varied and beautifully presented. Our arrival was late (11pm) but we were given a substantial snack to have in our room. The hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of Agios Nikolaos, a busy port with lots of good quality shopping outlets. The hotel grounds provide a quiet haven with lots space and tranquility.
Perhaps some minor refurbishment of the bungalow is needed, but that did not affect our overall opinion of the resort.
A very positive holiday experience all round and one we would recommend to others.
WE WILL BE BACK !!

Room Tip: We managed to upgrade to a superior seaview bungalow, our initial accommodation was close to the bar...

Contrary to previous posts about Internet access, I am writing this whilst sunbathing round the pool. We are staying in the main hotel, in a very nice room with a lovely large balcony which gets the morning sun, but is lovely and cool in the afternoon and evening when you can sit and admire the gardens, the sea and the mountains beyond. The beds are comfortable (we seemed to have a matress topper on already when we arrived). The staff are all very welcoming and helpful and the hotel, whilst quite full, is very peaceful. There are many places to sunbathe and plenty of sunbeds and for the first time this is a hotel where everyone doesn't get up at the crack of dawn to put towels on sunbeds. You can relax on loungers by the pool or in the many coves by the sea. The food is good and varied. The hotel would benefit by having more choice of snacks for lunch or food on offer by the pool, but there are many places to eat near the hotel at lunchtime....try Avra taverna 2 mins away for wonderful food and friendly service. You can catch the bus outside the hotel, and we went to Elounda for 1.80 euro each, and then caught a boat to Spinalongo, which is well worth doing (10 euros). Agios Nikolaos is a 15 min stroll away. All in all this is a lovely hotel, in a fabulous location with helpful and very pleasant staff.

Room Tip: Main hotel building is good.

Have just returned from a weeks stay at the Minos Beach Hotel and had a superior waterfront bungalow, although spacious the room was slightly tired especially the bathroom and we were a bit disappointed do not expect mould very old tiles and an old bath.We have stayed in some remarkable hotels throughout the world and certainly our room could have done with some tender loving care to bring it up to 5 star standards. Room 65 has a very narrow area in front of the bungalow and be warned if you like sun bathing the reserved umbrella and sunbeds are near the waters edge and lose the sun in the afternoon, and the sea can be quite choppy so we spent alot of time at the beautiful pool area.
The grounds are magnificant especially at this time of year and you could really lose yourself in their beauty and tranquility.

The staff certainly make this place what it is and cannot be faulted for their help and kindness always happy to assist you with anything. I would like to extend our personal thanks to Elena who served us in Ambrosia and at breakfast a truly professional lady and made it worth us visiting the restaurants just to see her and we would look forward to seeing her agaain should we return. The reception staff were also great and provided us with alot of help as it was out first visit to Aghios Nikolaos.

So sort out some of the rooms that look tired and you will definitely have our vote to stay again, and thaanks for making it a very restful break with good food and extremely professional staff.

Room Tip: Not 65 unless they upgrade it for the money being paid room 29 if you could afford it will be our ch...

we enjoyed our stay at Minos beach art hotel but we found certain things detracted from us being able to have full enjoyment. many people such as myself even when on holidays need to do 30min work on the internet catching up with important emails. this is not possible here. the internet is constantly down or has extremely bad reception or was dead slow. actually even worse then what we have experienced on isolated islands in the pacific. many other guests complained as well. consequently, i was very frustrated and couldnt just do what would normally take me a few minutes and would have to constantly go back and forth onto the net or use my phone and this took hours. this detracted and prevented me from relaxing. they need to invest more money into providing a proper broadband wireless internet. also, there are no lovely products in the bathroom as you would normally find in a 5 Star resort but use pump action dispensers which are on the wall. horrible things. beds are hard and yes they give you toppers but they are not exactly intercontinental heavenly beds but more like cheap student matresses and very hard with or without toppers. having said all that, you tend to excuse all that due to the wonderful location and friendly staff but if they could just make some small improvements and spend some money guest comforts would be so much improved.

Thank you very much for making Minos Beach the hotel of your choice and for sharing your opinion with other travellers. We hope you had a smooth trip home.

We highly appreciate your kind feedback, as it will help us to improve. Please be sure that we will be working on it.

Now we can just ask you to accept our sincere apologies for the mentioned inconveniences. Concerning the internet connection, we would like to add, that Minos beach is quite spacious and the quality of the internet connection depends a bit from the location of the room. Best connection is nearby the lobby.

Anyhow, we are pleased to read that that you also found the advantages of Minos Beach and in general liked the location and the service.

For us, it would be a big pleasure to welcome you again and we hope to see you again soon!

Just returned from a blissful stay at Minos Beach. The hotel is located in an idyllic spot on Mirabello Bay, set within beautiful grounds. Minos Beach has a very peaceful vibe - from the minute we arrived, we knew it was the perfect fit for the chilled out break that we were so desperately seeking! We stayed in a superior sea front bungalow just a few short steps from the waters of the Bay, and we opted for the half board dining option, which gave us the opportunity to enjoy the excellent food offered by the hotel and also sample a few of the great local restaurants in Agios Nikolaos and nearby Elounda. The hotel's Bacchus restaurant offered an extensive choice and good standard of food at breakfast, and we consistently experienced fantastic meals both at Terpsis (lunchtimes only) and Ambrosia during the evening. The staff at Minos Beach are fabulous, truly an asset to the hotel - we must give particular mention to Elena and Maria, who looked after us so well during our stay. We had a wonderful first visit to Minos Beach and we are already planning our next trip!

Room Tip: Superior sea front bungalows offer wonderful views and are very close to the water's edge
