Unfortunately, this has to be a place to avoid, although it was highly recommended by some friends. The main reason was my starter, which was supposed to be grilled sardines. Perhaps they were grilled, but the implication is that they were fresh, not out of a tin with oil then chucked on the grill. They were cold, oil-sodden, headless and all the same size. You do the math. I ate a few and left them to one side and did say I was disappointed they weren't fresh, which led to a 'discussion'. Shame, as the English waitress was charming, but we had to agree to disagree. Main course or prawns was decent if somewhat expensive at 16 euros 50 for five or six medium-sized prawns. The sardines were 10 euros which will help their GP. Disappointed these were not taken off the bill.
The piece de resistance was the tiny, half-rotten grapes we were given with melon as a complimentary dessert, which was amusing, even if the gesture was appreciated. My Mum's main was good she said. The live music was annoyingly monotonous, but having said all this, it is a nice venue, the staff very pleasant and it was off-season, I just wouldn't go there for the food, especially in October.
50 euros for one and a half meals and one glass of wine is not great value, even if the food had been good.
