One of the best preserved ancient ruins in Greece. You can easily feel as you were in year 500 BC, grazing sheep, worshipping Zeus and Athena and watching athletic games at the stadium

I have no words except WOW. The most spectacular views combined with interesting and beautiful ruins really creates the wow factor. A must see if you visit Greece. I've travelled all over the world, seen the pyramids at Egypt, the taj mahal and the anghor wat temples at Siemreap. This is easily up there with them. Seriously do it!!!! Also don't sook out and not climb to the top to see the stadium, trust me the effort is worth it.

After the Acropolis, Delphi is the most popular archaeological site in Greece, considered the center of the known world, the place where heaven and earth met. This was the place on earth where man was closest to God.

Delphi, a UNESCO world heritage site, is easily reached from Athens by car or bus and could be done in one day, although an overnight stay allows you to reach the site early in the morning before the heat. The surroundings are beautiful, particularly on a sunny day as you walk, and climb, through Delphi. There is parking along the road and the entrance is easily found. Those with mobility issues will not be able to see the entire site as there are stairs and quite a climb up to the stadium. I would recommend either obtaining a written or oral description before arriving which helps explain what you are seeing. The museum is very well done and houses many of the artifacts originally found at the Delphi site. If you are driving, a stop in the village of Arachova for lunch or dinner on the way back to Athens is highly recommended.
