Parnassos Delphi Hotel
Ranked #15 of 25 Hotels in Delphi
Reviewed January 4, 2014

We spent a weekend in Delphi and chose to stay at Parnassos hotel, which is slightly more expensive than other hotels on the same road as we were looking for a more special stay and we're taken by the pictures of the hotel as well as the excellent reviews on trip advisor.

Whilst booking we asked if we could have a room with the wooden ceiling and metallic beds ( assuming its on the top floor) but appreciating it is a busy weekend we expected that this could not be guaranteed.

We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by a very matter of fact receptionist, not really polite but not rude either. The man on reception in the morning was very polite. The room was one of the smaller rooms, very average but comfortable. The bathroom is rather dated, stand up shower with a plastic curtain but clean and functional. Breakfast has a very wide selection of pastries, cereal many of which the quality was rather dubious but ok.

The hotel is generally really clean and well located. The beds were comfortable and we slept well.

However as this hotel is marked above the towns average that does not necessarily reflect all its rooms so do not get your hopes up as I gather most of the rooms fall into the basic decor -small size category and therefore you may just as we'll go to one if the cheaper hotels.

Door slamming can be an issue too!

For the management it be worthwhile considering a tiered pricing to reflect room types and match expectations.

If this was the case, we would go back and recommend it

My family and I arrived at the hotel after a long drive to find that there was no room for us despite our confirmed reservation. The manager disputed our claims despite our email documentation, suggesting that we had arrived a day early. This he subsequently realized was his mistake.

We were offered an alternative accommodation owned by the same people, that was really more like a backpackers lodge. Very basic. Little amenities. Even soap and shampoo were not provided.

While this could very well be a genuine mistake, we were miffed by them disputing our documentary evidence for half a day before realizing their mistake. A simple apology, and some basic courtesy would have been greatly welcome. We really didn't mind having to put up with a poorer accommodation, but the manager's attitude inflamed an already frustrating situation.

The manager thought he was doing us a favor by offering us a discount on the alternative accommodation, without realizing that his subordinate had already offered, only that the manager's "discount" was 20% more costly! We could not help feeling we were being fleeced.

I must however add the service level from the other staff was quite acceptable.

Delphi is a lovely town, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone traveling a long distance to get here.

This hotel is very nice hotel to stay. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the main attraction : the Temple of Apollo.
You can enjoy a very calm atmosphere. This is an amazing place to relax and enjoy that fantastic, quiet town. If you are passionate about Greece jewelry, you can find exceptional pieces in silver and gold. The prices are less expensive than what you can find in Plaka, Athens.
The staff in the hotel make you feel like you are a friend visiting the family.

My husband and I were given a tastefully furnished suite with a fireplace and a lovely bathroom for the same price as a double room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was in a great central location - close to restaurants and shops and withing walking distance of the Archaeological site.

This is comfortable and very clean hotel with great value for what they offer.
Friendly and professional staff who allowed us to enter room in 7:30 am which is not usual for Greece.
Breakfast was very good with lot of choices and not some classic bred and butter thing.
Hotel has WiFi and air condition.

We came to Delphi to visit one of the most attractive places in Greece, covered with legends, the temple of Apollo and the Delphic oracle. Delphi we loved. It is quiet and peaceful. Friendly locals. Many shops, small hotels. Scenic view of the Gulf of Corinth. We stopped Parnassos Hotel Delphi.Comfortable and clean hotel. Very friendly and professional staff. Spacious family room with fireplace, large windows and views of the garden. Corresponds to the description on the website. A hearty breakfast. Excellent signal wifi. One negative - it's soundproofing.
The hotel is great. But your neighbors can be noisy. I advise you to take a earplugs :). I hope they will not come in handy :)

We booked at Parnassos at the last minute whilst visiting Delphi.

The staff are extremely friendly and eager to please, the bar down stairs is comfortable and airy and a great place to relax with a cold beverage or coffee.

The rooms, though not large are comfortable. The only draw back is a cramped bathroom.

Parnassos is in the main st of Delphi, surrounded by great restaurants, bars and mini marts, plus a multitude of gift shops and your only a short walk or 2 minute drive to the Archaeological site of Delphi.
