“Site first, then Museum”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Would have loved to have spent all day reading and viewing in this museum. The huge crowds and not very air-conditioned environment caused me to move much faster. The exhibit is great, and it contains a lot of artifacts but, if all you are doing is a light sweep, you could move through it very quickly. I recommend more time. I did the museum first and then the site, and wish I had gone about it the other way around. It's just the way my mind works, but I would have like to learn the lay of the land, and see what was still existing, and then go inside -- cool off, a little -- and add in all the details that were lacking with the preserved artifacts.

I would use this as a rule of thumb in Greece. Do the site first - preferably very early in the morning - and then hit up the museum later in the afternoon.

“Very Impressive”

I was truly impressed by this museum, I spent an awful lot of time here hiding from the rain. The layout of the museum is amazing, this is one of my favorite museums I visited in Greece

“Awesome! Informative!”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

I visited the museum, having first spent the morning at the archaeological site. The museum visit was a natural continuation of my visit to the site, as it filled in the gaps for me and helped me put the site and its significance and place in history in context. If you like to read and absorb and reflect on the information you find, then you'll probably find that you need to allow approx. 2-3 hours for the museum.
