We stayed here for one night 2nd October 2012 due to a sister hotel being overbooked.
Service from staff was very good - we were missing all drinks in the room's mini-bar which was reported to Reception. Before retiring a full compliment was delivered to the room.

Downside is the Pool snack bar.We had arrived after the 2:30 lunchtime had finished so the only thing to eat was from the pool snack bar. It was effectively a help-yourself low-end buffet with a limited choice from frankfurters, rolls, croissants, salad etc. There was also ice cream; again not served by staff so the cornets and serving scoops were rather hygienically suspect since everyone had to handle them. However, the frankfurters were actually good quality and the staff were very attentive to the clients when serving drinks but too stretched to also deal with food service.

Hotel position is good as there is a reasonable beach across the road.

Restaurant has tables placed too close together and also a shame that only smokers get to sit outside as there is no embargo on smoking in the outside restaurant area. The restaurant is dated and poorly designed with the salad and dessert bars set parallel so that some skilful manoeuvring is required when two people need to pass through this area, a problem exacerbated when staff make the frequent visits with food trolleys to restock the counters.

Room Tip: The bungalow rooms 400's are nicely positioned and overlook the adult pool with the ground floor having patios

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of October. After a ten hour delay (thanks Olympic) we arrived at night and were very quickly checked in. We were given room in the main block and had a terrible nights sleep as it was just so noisy. The next morning we asked to move and were given a bungalow which was much better (and twice the size).

Thoughts:

Room very clean, but tiny tv with only one English channel, no shower curtain/screen so bathroom soaked after every shower, but lovely balcony and sea view. Fridge in room, but no bottled water available (have to buy from shop)

Pools clean. There are two pools - the large one with the 'entertainment' blasting out all day and a smaller quiet pool. Downsides: old rickety loungers, children being allowed to run havoc at the quiet pool when they have the main pool plus two kids pools available and mangy cats everywhere.

Pool bar: niki is lovely, service with a smile all day. Not big enough for the hotel tho, can imagine big queues in high season.

Terrace bar: good table service at all times. Antonio lovely. Drinks watered down.

Entertainment: awful. Not geared towards adults at all. Loud and crass!

Taverna: marketed as an alternative to the main restaurant, but just serves same food as well as pizza. Self service, everything drowned in oil. Have to book 24 hours in advance.

Bus service: 1.60 euro each way to hersonissos, more to Heraklion or nicolaus.

Restaurant: really very poor. Bad lighting, slow service, all self serve, lots of queues, cold food, far too much carb based, meat tough and bony, fish undercooked, minimal outside seating, lots of greedy sorts leaving piles of untouched food, hardly any Greek food. Good salads, no veg, tasty blaklava.

Beach: no sand, stony and shale. Rocky - need shoes. Sea rough.

No gym, no spa, no indoor pool. How mitsis can say its a five star is beyond me. The mitsis laguna down the road is incredible by comparison - five pools, six restaurants, spa, gym, indoor pool, champagne bar. The laguna is definitely worthy of five stars.

The sensatori at analipsi is also far more of a five star - jacuzzi baths, swim up rooms etc.

Thomas cook advertise it as a three star on their website, that is probably a fair rating.

We really enjoyed our honeymoon at the Serita beach hotel. The staff were very friendly, the cleaning ladies were excellent and cleaned our rooms daily. The ladies at the pool bar were fantastic! The table staff at the main bar area were hard working and friendly with great memories! The entertainment staff were lively & friendly but we found the evening entertainment repetitive. The pools were clean and refreshing in the hot sun. Some of the sun loungers were broke but there was always plenty to choose from, just needed a game of musical loungers occasionally. The beach is lovely but beware it's not sandy and you'll need some form of shoe to walk on it.

The only disappointing aspect to the hotel was the queuing for the dining hall and the food was edible but not much choice and not very Greek (except the salad) but we didn't go hungry!

We stayed in one of the bungalows as the reception staff called it and had no complaints about the room & balcony. The view of the pool and sea was lovely and peaceful especially at night.

We'd definitely return to the Serita Beach hotel

Room Tip: Mike's supermarket (5 mins walk from Serita) near the Captain bar is the friendliest & cheapest supermarket! if you take a taxi or bus to Hersonissos be sure to visit the restaurant LaScala on the port, it's a beautiful setting with delicious food and friendly staff. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Was at Mitsis Serita 25/09/12 for 1 week, after staying in another Mitsis as Kos with the same star rating i thought it would have the same to offer.
Pros:
Very Friendly Staff
Clean Hotel & Pools
Drinks Good with a cocktail menu at main bar

Cons:
There is no sand on beach All Big Sharp Rocks had to walk 15mins to get too sand.
Safe charge 25 Euro (Only Deposit required in Mitsis Ramira Kos)
Old fashioned rooms with old television only 24hr news available in English
Not allowed Bath Plug as bad plumbing
No drinks in room not even bottled water ( It seemed some rooms had their fridge stocked, and some didn't which was very unfair) (Fridge stocked in Mitsis Ramira Kos)
Balcony Covered in Pigeon Poo, So don't hang towels out.
Poor air conditioning blew out warm air.
Beds uncomfortable with lumpy pillows
Entertainment repetitive and rubbish, was inside so could'nt see it if sitting outside where most of the seating area is, also shows did'nt start until 10pm and only lasted an hour. Same children entertaintment every night, shows were all done by entertainment staff, although they tried hard it was pure rubbish.
Food was ok but very repetitive, breakfast bad, undercooked eggs, frankfurters, fruit etc
Shortage of staff, had to queue for everything, drinks food e.t.c
Tiles very slippy around pools as some were smooth, silly round a pool area!
No Spa at hotel.

I Feel Dissapointed With Mitsis Serita, After Staying At Mitsis Ramira in Kos, thought i would try another Mitsis thinking the quality would be just as good, it was not.

Crete is nice but not the best Greek Island i have been too.

Room Tip: Try and get a ground floor as our room was old with pigeon poo all over the balcony.

Had great time but hotel could be better, defo not 4*. Rooms fine but balconies had pigeon muck & feathers on.(3rd floor) pigeons had playpark on the roof!!. Main bar was ok with very hardworking nice staff, drinks obviously watered down(even the cola) so if you like a few tipples it won't affect you. Beach bar is happy place but too small for size of hotel. Staff there are very happy friendly girls who worked very hard. Pool areas a little worn broken beds and couple of ripped parasols. and tiles slippy when wet. Not much cleaning around the pools during the day so by after lunch area a bit scruffy. Restaurant a bit chaotic but not the staffs fault they worked so hard and some not so happily. Greek staff very warm and welcoming but sorry some other foreign staff carrying food out from kitchen seemed rude. Annisaris nice area a little quiet almost joining up with Analipsi. beaches shale, rock and some sandy parts if you search them out. 10Euro train trip is well worth the money so give it a try. After being to Blue Lagoon resort 4* in KOS earlier this year (FAB) the Serita was not on a par so dissapointing.

Room Tip: Don't go on 3rd floor if your not fond of pigeons as they have decided to make a home on the roof above , therefore sometimes leaving their mark on the tables, chairs and floor. you still get as good a view from the second floor. it's a shame as balconies are fine although not very private as only a short dividing wall between each. but not many people stayed on balconies long anyway and i'm sure it must have been due to lack of privacy and the pigeons. i don't object to small garden birds but not pigeons. The view from the front of the hotel is a beautiful mountain view, also looking over the bay to the side.
