My wife and stayed at the Faros 1 Hotel before our cruise embarked. The hotel is close to the cruise and ferry ports and is located on a quiet street.

The hotel has been recently renovated and is very clean. The hotel reception was helpful and efficient. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of storage in the room. The bathroom was very clean and, while small, spacious enough.

We would highly recommend the Faros 1 Hotel while in Piraeus, Greece.

We decided to base ourselves in the port area of Piraeus for 5 days in order to do several day trips to some of the islands in the Saronic Gulf and the Athens Riviera. We chose the Faros hotel on the basis of price and location, and were delighted with our choice. The room was modern and spacious with a decent sized bathroom, balcony and good shower. There was air con but we didn’t bother with it as we stayed early October and the ambient temperature was fine. Shortly after we arrived a waitress came to our door with two welcome drinks of sangria- a lovely touch. The hotel has a restaurant and outdoor patio serving food and dtinks, and prices were very reasonable. Staff were lovely, and we enjoyed our daily chats with John on reception. Location was great- a 10-12 minute walk to Gate E9 for the ferries to the Saronic Gulf, and a short walk to the main shopping and commercial district of Piraeus. It’s also near the A1 bus stop for the beaches of Glyfada and Vougliameni. There were loads of cafes, restaurants and bars nearby so eating out was a pleasure. It’s worth spending time in Piraeus as it’s an interesting city in its own right with excellent shopping and a lively buzz both day and night. The Greek Orthodox neo-Byzantine cathedral is also worth visiting. Would recommend the Mikrolimano Marina a short cab ride away area for a great selection of fish restaurants. WiFi was excellent in all areas. The only minus was the lack of a hairdryer, but considering we paid a mere €39 per night this wasn’t a major issue. Would recommend wholeheartedly and would stay here again. Staff were very nice, and it was also quiet despite being on a fairly busy street, due to good soundproofing via the balcony screen and door.

Room tip: We stayed on the second floor

Its small, but very cozy, clean hotel for small price... Close to Pireus seabord, where located many famous bars, clubs. About 1km to the metro. Food good, very big portion, difficult to eat full for one person. :)

The hotel is in the perfect location if you're catching a ferry to the islands. We had booked this for 1 night as we were going to Naxos the next day. The ferry was cancelled due to bad weather but would have been perfect I'd not cancelled. Everyone seemed helpful. Breakfast was €7 and was a huge spread. The only major downside was the roomed reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Like someone had chained smoked in the room. In hindsight I really should have asked to move to another room. It was horrendous. Unfortunately this really makes me review less than what it should really be.

We stayed here overnight on our way to the islands, and it suited us fine. Our flight was delayed slightly and we didn't arrive here until around 10pm; and we just dumped our bags and went out for something to eat and returned around midnight for a shower sleep before our early morning ferry. Our room was modern and huge and very convenient for the port (we walked both ways wheeling our luggage). The staff were perfectly friendly, and we thought we made a good choice for a very reasonable price. The streets around the hotel were very quiet indeed, which was surprising for a Friday night..The welcome drink was a nice touch, and we would most definitely choose this hotel again, should we need accommodation in Piraeus.
