The location is really good. Close to a metro station / Larissa Station and very easy to reach archeological points and mainly touristic places. The employees were fine. Unfortunately the bathroom really needs to be repaired. It was very small and it’s uncomfortable to take a shower. Maybe due to this problem, the floor of the bedroom was damaged. Breakfast is also a little bit poor of variety. If they would offer an option without breakfast would be better to save some money and have a breakfast in another place.

For a brief stay we found Socrates ideal.
Sure it's an old hotel, but it served its purpose for us.......because it was clean.
The rooms are basic offering nothing more than a bed, bathroom & TV, but that's all we needed.
They include a very basic continental breakfast.
There is a lift in the building to access rooms.
Just 100 m from Larissa (Athens Centrale ) train station it gave excellent access to all the Touristy things without effort.
Plus easy access to the airport when departing.
Despite negative reviews on this site........we would Definately stay again.

The room is tiny and quite scary. The bathroom was the size of a walkin shower and was absolutely disgusting. The showers curtain had mold on curtains. The ladies I were with were so distraught that we had to change hotels. Unless you like dark scary smelly restrooms I would advise picking another hotel.

This hotel is close to transport and the main train station. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. They advised us where to get traditional Greek food that had not been modified for tourists palates.
There was a street market only 2 blocks away one day which was very interesting. The breakfast was good and our room had views over a small square.

Room tip: Wevliked having a room looking over the square

Stayed at this hotel just for one night after arriving late by train from Kalambaka.
The hotel is located in walking distance from the train station and offers basic amenities for a decent price.
Room looked recently remodeled with a low-to-the-ground double bed, chair and clothing storage space. Shower was tiny and showed wear-and-tear. The hotel is somewhat noisy as it is close to traffic and walls seem to be thin. I didn't use breakfast as I had to leave early in the morning for the airport.

In summary, if you are looking for a decent place to spend the night after traveling by train, this hotel will do the job. Don't expect anything fancy though.
