1st lunch in Athens. You can't imagine this is a restaurant from outside. Friendly lady boss recommended us 3 Greek dishes - tzatziki, moussaka & lamb. Very delicious.!

Kalimatria, is an authentic Greek restaurant with a long tradition. Today the restaurant is managed by a woman and her husband The woman is also responsible for all the culinary affairs of the restaurant, and the food is produced from high quality products that are purchased in the nearby markets or from fields where special crops are grown for them. A group of musicians (guitar, bass, bouzouki and minnie bouzouki) accompanied by a singer and musicians on an excellent level The atmosphere in the restaurant, on Thursday, is great, the musicians play and sing, the crowd fills the
restaurant, sings with them and also dance
make the reservation some days befor.ifr the musicians are perfoming-check

We wanted to try something traditional and we made a good choice. Everything we tried was very tasteful, we were impressed by the aubergine salad, spicy hot cheese and also the mousaka. The service was a bit in a hurry as they brought the main dishes even though we didn't finish the appetizers, but this didn't bother us as we ate at our own pace. The place had a local, old school vibe to it and even though the neighborhood didn't seem so safe in the beginning, all in all it was fine.

Really good authentic Greek food in an old fashioned taverna setting. Great service. Large portions. You won't leave hungry.
