Description: The restaurant is a perfectly restored villa from the early years of the previous century. The decor strikes the perfect balance between luxury and ambience, creating an atmosphere which is quite formal but still unpretentious, cozy and elegant. The restaurant's creative cuisine has been awarded many times and promises to impress you with a brilliant parade of re-synthesized Greek cuisine The chef Gikas Xenakis is one of the best proponents of the New Greek Cuisine movement which now attracts the most talented chefs in Greece. His philosophy is one that combines a calm but confident control of the modern cooking techniques with his memories of traditional home food cooked with the best and freshest ingredients that the sea and land of Greece offers. At Aleria you will enjoy Greek fine dining in wonderful surroundings in what is considered as one of the best value for money restaurants.

Hi all followers and readers,

How are you? How have you taste Athens, city of marble temples of gods and goddess?

I and my BF found this restaurant through online as TripAdvisor is already recommended at the best restaurant in Athens and close to our hotel. (10 - 15 minutes by walk)

"ALERIA" restaurant has very warm welcoming from dynamic staff. Everything there offers you nice ambience for creating wonderful romantic scene. It has limited tables for interior and exterior area which also fulfil with green English garden and whispers of birds. The decorations are different and it very fits to this restaurant theme. If you are looking for romantic or discover new ambience, we recommend this restaurant.

Foods and drinks are the best part ever. It is affordable and not as expensive as Switzerland. You have few typic Athens dish menus waiting to serve upon your orders. It takes time to prepare a dish but it is good to feel and discover new ambience from local to tourists. For our dinner, we took red pumpkin as starter. It was excellent orange foam and tasty. For the main course, we took fresh cod lays on salad garden and seafood risotto which has different method of cooking it. In the end, we could not decide which desserts to taste, thus, we took three desserts from dessert menu; mille feuille with orange confit and cubed of orangina, mousse au chocolate with lemon sorbet on top and dressing with white sweetie cream (yumm) and sliced pear with bio red berries and cream sauce.

According to discuss with local restaurant staff, we have learnt that Greece has their meals very different and so late. They have their lunch around 3-4pm and dinner around 8 - 10pm. It sounds strange but it is GREECE! :D

Thus, this is our opinions about Aleria and some new experiences from local foods and wines, local atmosphere and hmmm ... Ki-off ... Thank you.

Recommend: If you want to make your life much relax and funnier to release your stressful from work or boring ambience, we think you should try to use some Greece words to socialize with Greece people from taxi driver to waiters, waitress and so on.

Have fun and see you next recommendation!

We did not intent to go in this restaurant but the one planed was closed so we went to Aleria. What a good surprise ! The restaurant is nicely decorated , the Outdoor patio was closed in winter but should be romantic in summer. The service is impeccable and not haughty. The food is amazing, very tasty, well presented: we took 3 starters and 2 desserts and white wine. We go often to various levels of restaurants in France and Aleria is at the level of a gastronomic one for sure. Obviously the price is at the level of the quality but it worths it. Food is not Greek but still modern mediterranean we will say.

I am always amazed by the atmosphere of Aleria after so many times I have visited it. Its a place of unique positive energy coming from all the people working there as well as the decoration that is elegantly colorful. The food and the wine suggestions are accompanied by the personality of the owner himself who is a talented young person willing to fulfill all our gastronomic needs.

The meat was great and our waiter was very kind and competent. After the dinner we passed to the bar, we did the great acquaintanceships, the music was great. Thank you Aleria for the great 15 th february.

This was my second visit to Aleria in a two month period. The first was business dinner but also end to a tasty pleasure, as the place has no room for severe negotiations. The restaurant is a perfectly restored villa from the early years of the previous century. The atmosphere carries reminiscence of glorious dinner parties that surely happened there at its good times. Excellent service from unpretentious personnel. The cocktails and a great choice of different spirit brands for starter give the first smile on a hip taster. Second smile is the food course. Brilliant parade of re-synthesized Greek cuisine at its best. The gourmet explosion of a seafood "mageiritsa", which normally is a typical Easter Greek soup plate made by lamp inwards, the beef cheeks flavored with fennel and lemon simply delicious, or the Grain salad with wheat, lentils, beetroot crème and marinated chicken! It is their passion to make everyone feel like home that they promote the idea of bringing your own wine, but Aleria wine list is a piece of art as includes a smart worldwide choice of interesting wines. When in Athens, don't forget to eat there.
