I've been to this restaurant more times than any other in Athens. It helps that it's close to home, although the parking is still an issue... Whenever I am tired after work and want to be treated to an old-fashioned dish of pasta or find myself craving for its tiramisu, I just drop by. Still, it's highly recommended to book - there's been more than one occasions that we couldn't find a table, even on a Monday night! The other reason we go is Jarek, the owner. He's kind and friendly, making jokes and lifting our spirits. Plus, he actually enforces the law and doesn't allow smoking in his small trattoria. It may be that you find a bigger variety of dishes, or even better cooking, in other restaurants. Still, the high quality of its igredients and unpretentious attitude to cooking and greeting its costumers make this the ideal place when you just want to eat and enjoy your company. A recipe for success, if you ask me!

After reading contradictory reviews, i decided to write my opinion. I lived in Italy for 8 years and since i traveled all country from Bolzano to Bari, i can tell that i know something about Italian cuisine.
As for the decoration i must agree with other reviewers. More than a greek cheap souvlaki taverna than an Italian trattoria. But lets overlook that and take a look at the menu: Some interesting antipasti, although lacking of personality and originality. We tried two different salads, one was simple green salad, no dressing, nothing special. And we mentioned that to the waiter. We had the chance to visit the restaurant on December, so the menu had some extra dishes with truffle. I tried the pasta but i was disappointed. Very well cooked, definetely not al dente, with all the materials simple mixed up without passion. I was trying to discover the truffles smell, but i just couldn't find it. Not Italian for sure. The other dishes were pretty much the same, nice food, nothing exceptional, not So Italian...
But I must admit that we had one of the best Tiramisu that i ever tried! Only for that i will definetely go back...
Don't even think about going there with your own car. You will regret it since you will never be able to find parking place near there, and you will get lost in the streets wondering for an hour!

The decoration is that of an average Italian trattoria.
The place is a bit hard to find if you haven't been there before.
The service is good.
The wine list doesn't have a big variety.
We had a salad which was ok, the mozzarela was one of the best we've had in Greece, smoked cheese was really good, but the spinach with beef slices was rather tasteless.
The main pasta dishes were ok, the tomato sauce was made from fresh tomato, but they were rather "heavy" !

Just a small restaurant way from the city noise. We don't know how easy it would be for a tourist to find it (probably on a taxi), but since we found it, it's a must every now and then. Fresh pasta (one of the few athenian restaurants that truly serve fresh pasta), small catalogue but with remarkable recipes and a good list of excellent italian wines. The polish-italian owner is also an attraction- ask him everything you want. Very good choice for a romantic dinner, if you are not fond of trendy new-york-style restaurants.
