“Not too bad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

There's not a lot here, and for us the coolest part was outside where the glass sidewalk lets you look down into the excavation site below. Still, it's not an expensive ticket and you get a nice overview of ancient greek culture

“Wonderfully Informative.........but sparse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

We went here after a full day of sightseeing, and although we did find it to be both note resting and informative, my husband described it as "a bit of a let down." The pieces they do have in place are lovely, but if you are a big museum person, this one has very few articles to exhibit when compared to many other "must see" museums. It's almost as if they weren't ready to be open when they were. Also, note, many of the pieces are casts, as they don't have the real ones restored and ready for display yet (though nowhere will it tell you that if you don't ask). The ancient buildings under the glass walkway are amazing, however!!

“A must see !!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

This is a must see in Athens. The museum is only a few years old and is state of the art. We had a guided tour that was very informative. The location is at the base of the acropolis. It is right next to the Plaka shopping district. Our tour lasted a couple hours. The museum has a bag check, bookstore and a snack bar.

“Impressive building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

The highlight of this museum, in my opinion, was not what was in it, but what was under it. The many glass floors offer views of the ruins discovered underneath it.
