We’ve been to this place so many times but for some reason I’ve never written a review about it. Perhaps I was convinced that the best way to let people know about Telis is word of mouth. What does it take for a satisfied customer? It’s simple: good food! And Telis provides this in excess! It’s not a fancy place but people don’t go there for the decoration or the ambience. They go for the delicious food! There is no menu at Telis because the owner serves only charcoaled pork chops on hand cut chips, Greek salad and Bouyourdi, a dish with tomatoes, feta cheese, and green peppers in olive oil, all baked. What I love about that restaurant is the simplicity. Everything comes in extra large sizes, the pork chops are juicy, beautifully grilled, perfectly seasoned and the chips taste awesome with all the juices from the chops on top of them. The Bouyourdi is really good too if you are in for something spicy. Let me put it this way, if I were on death row this would be my final meal request!
And after dinner you can go for a drink as it’s located close to the Psiri and Monastiraki areas where you can find many bars and cool places to chill out on a hot summer Athenian night!

I strongly believe that a good restaurant does not need to have thousand items just a few and awesome. This is the case with Telis, let us be honest no body goes there for the greek salad or the tzatziki but the RIBS, oh my god the RIBS. It has been a staple of my nutrition since i was a kid.

The neighbourhood is not the best you can have in athens, but the food is nice and the people working there very friendly.
As said in the title the offer is basic: no menu, you get a greek salad and a lot of pork chops grilled on charcoals and served with fried potatoes. Everything if freshly cooked and very nice. All at very good price, so if you're not looking for a fancy and trendy restaurant but just nice food at a reasonable price this is the place! Definately worth coming.

I went to Telis for one reason and one reason only: The Pork Chops on a Bed of Fried Potatoes. The chops were flattened thin and huge, the flavor was superb and the fried potatoes excellent. I had a large bottle of beer to wash it all down. Not in the most charming of areas and visited mostly by locals and brave tourists who seek it out. If your leery about the area go for an early evening (6 p.m.) dinner. Service was good, wait staff had enough locals who could speak English and if you got someone who didn't then they found one who did.

Recommended for those who want a more local dining experience but don't expect frills or upscale dining, just great Greek Pork Chops!

Simple, and away from the busiest streets, but for the meat eaters out there it's definitely a place to visit.
