Clean! Good location! Hardly recomend!

Review of Ariston Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 22, 2010
From the airport to the hotel:
Bus: X95
Go to the final stop (close by the Grand Hotel)
Pick a taxi, it is about 3 euros to the hotel's door.

The staff is VERY NICE! Everything super clean! GREAT! The breakfast seems very nice (I didn't eat it though, since I had brought my own food)
You can leave your luggage hidden inside if you want to check out and continue seeing the city.

Good location - 5 to 8 euros to Plaka/Acroples (please, be carefull with taxi drivers!)

This is a good option if you are looking for value, or travelling on a budget. It is situated across the road from Larissa station, giving good access to the metro system, and is only a few stops from Syntagma Square, Monastiraki, Ominia Sq. etc.

The hotel is modern, and nicely decorated, the rooms although on the small side are comfortable.
Breakfast is adequate, with orange juice, cereal, ham cheese, boiled eggs, bread, croissants etc. and a choice of a selection of teas or coffee.
The staff at reception are great, they speak very good English and are very helpful in providing information.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Ariston in Greek language means Excellent. That's what this hotel really is.
Friendly staff ready to assist you whenever you need something either concerning the hotel or if you want to go around the beautiful city of Athens.
They will always treat you with a smile and they look at you like a friend so you feel comfortable.
The room was extremely quiet and had almost everything.
Here is some things which were in my room.
A huge mirror, a small table to place your stuff on it, another bigger table with a tv and place for your laptop, a broadband connection plug (just make sure you have your cable with you), ashtrays, extra bed sheets, extra cushion, blankets, a small wardrobe, spot lights, hidden lights on the roof, a smoke/fire alarm detector, an exit sign for emergency, a telephone, a hairdryer, extra electric sockets, aircondition (hot/cold).
In the bathroom there was a bath tube and a water sink both with hot and cold water, soaps, hair shampoo and clean bath towels and face towels.

The hotel is really very clean and cleaners visit all rooms daily in the morning.
The cleaners will NOT disturb you if you are sleeping. They are notified by the receptionist which rooms are empty so they go and clean them.

The hotel is situated opposite Larisis Railway station and most important, 50 meters from Metro Station
This hotel is surely a gem just a couple of miles out of the busy and noisy city center of Athens and I really recommend it to all travelers.

I would also like to thank the wonderful personnel of the hotel for the great time they offered me.

M.K.

Stayed here for one night as a stopover before catching the ferry. This hotel is located on a busy main road, about 4 stops on the Metro from the main tourist area (Plaka). The area surrounding the hotel is not very welcoming or pleasant and hotels for the same price can be found in the centre. Although on the 4th floor, the traffic could still be heard during the night. The air conditioning unit in our room was placed directly above the bed so although it kept the room cool, it blows straight on to you too, keeping you icy cool.

3 good points. Clean. Nicely decorated/furnished. Close to Metro Station.

And the reception desk were welcoming and helpful too. This is not enough to reccomend it though.

We stayed here for a three day stopover before heading to Mykonos.

The hotel is modern and clean and is located close to Larissa Station, which is on the same line to Syntagma Square, the centre of Athens.

We have no complaints about the hotel or its staff, who were all very friendly. The only negative thing we have to comment is that the hotel is located on a busy road, so if you are noise sensitive this is not the place for you.

ariston hotel can be one of the best hotels in Athens for the value. it's quite difficult to find a good CLEAN hotel for good price. Ariston offered this. and the furniture is so modren and new. it was a very pleasnt stay. very close to the tram station less than 5 min walking. the area is Larissa and it's a bit more quite than Omonia and Metraxugria (not sure how it spelled). freindly staff (u don't get to meet so many friendly ppl there).

i would advise this to everybody.
