One week stay at the Ariston. Met at reception by Sofi after 20 hours flight. What a delight to find we are welcome and our room all prepared. This small hotel is freshly renovated very clean and well located to rail and bus.

Wife had already made a reservation for a nights stay in Hotel Ariston, had already paid the full cost of the room. We touched down at Athens Airport and took the metro to Larissa Station, happy to find that Hotel Ariston was really a stone's throw away from the metro.

However, when we reached at about 9.15pm, we were told that the hotel was fully booked and that there would be no rooms available for us. They even told us that they always intentionally overbook in case of last minute cancellations by guests. Seemed rather unfair to us since we had already PAID FOR THE ROOMS THROUGH HOTELS.COM??
We were then put up in another cheaper hotel further away, nil refunds, nil receipts.

Not sure if this is a common practice in Greece during the peak season, but all the other hotels we stayed in did not have such problems even when we could only check in at 11.45 pm..

Perfect Accommodations for the last few days of our trip to Greece! Rooms were clean and location was perfect for getting around. Metro was nearby and the staff was extremely helpful. Thank you Sofia!

I spent a few days here with my mum at the beginning of June the staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful, the hotel is right next to the metro station the only thing making it not a 5 is that the beds were quite hard so not the best for anyone with a bad back.

The 3 stars doesnt mean is bad, just that you pay what you get. We have to agree that price is really good for something that is right next to the metro and railway station. The room is not big and I think bed was queen size, so is you are not big body type, is fine. The unit we had also has a small balcony. The breakfast was included in the booking, nothing fancy but is free meal ;)

The check in and check out was so simple, and staff was friendly.

The only warning might be for single girls to stay as neighborhood doesn't seem to be that safe but is only few meters from the metro.

We didnt check out the neighborhood as is mainly for sleeping and take metro to explore the city.

I do recommend to go to Hydra by ferry of you are done with Athens ;)
