Based on the photos I was expecting quite a bit more. I can't say much for the inside of the hotel as our room as right off the lobby. The front door opens from the street and up 5 stairs there are 2 doors and ours was right there. It was quite odd, and a little scary as anyone can come right off the street and knock on our door. I think this place is perfect for just a night or two and if you expect to spend no time in your hotel. The location is also a bit further than I thought. It is a quick walk to the museum and other sites but was hoping for something more surrounded by restaurants and cafes. Our bathroom while clean was odd. The shower barely worked and I think our toiletries were used. I would say it is more 3 stars than 4 and don't understand how it costs $160 Euros. Since our room was on the ground floor we kept the curtains drawn the whole time but it was surprisingly quiet.

Room Tip: Specify that you do not want the ground floor room.

We have just returned from a cruise through the Greek islands. We stayed in Athens for 2days before our cruise and our 1st room booked by bookings .com was not to our liking sure it was not a deluxe room. Spoke to Maria and she was able to move us to the 2nd floor to a much bigger and better room. Lovely helpful lady. We were able to leave 2bags behind for 7 days of our cruise no charge. On return we were given a wonderful newer room for 1 night on the 4th floor same price,by Donna thank you, very pleasant and helpful as nearly fully booked. Only dislike was the breakfast area. Don't mind self service but food was not replaced when eaten, so if you were down 1/2hour later than breaky time started there was very little left. Stained Tea clothes on tables were not replace at all , though our week day breakfast girl, was very happy and helpful. Our Weekend lady not so, and tables were not cleared for further seating. Apart from that, this hotel was a lovely oasis in a dirty dusty city as Athens is. Thank you Maria & Donna.

Although we had inadvertently booked a single bed room (not a room with a single bed) the staff provided us with extra towels and willingly changed us to a larger room when one was available and did not charge extra. The breakfast choices were quite adequate - and the staff provided us with a continental breakfast when we had to leave to catch an early plane. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Acropolis and a number of very good sidewalk cafe's. The only negatives I have for this review is that there is no elevator. So if you have mobility problems or have difficulty carrying suitcases up multiple flights of stairs (including a flight just to get into the building), this is not the place for you as there are also no attendants to help with this.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does is not at the front of the hotel as these are quite noisy.

Excellent location and super nice staff. The hotel is located within walking distance to the Acropolis museum and Plaka district. The hotel is nice and clean but rooms would certainly need some renovation. Overall a good deal for the price.

My friend and I stayed in the acropolis museum boutique hotel for a good five days, and I must say that Maria was wonderful, helping us with our travel plans, taxi arrangements and going the extra mile in ensuring our comfort and safety. The location is definitely the best feature as it is literally at the heart of everything Athens- walking to every single interesting destination (Acropolis, Syntagma, Plaka, Monastriaki etc) was a breeze! It' s pretty straightforward once you have a map, and since almost everyone speaks English- less complex too.It is also located between two metro stations Syngrou and Acropolis) so that makes it excitingly convenient too!
The room was pleasantly decorated and comfortable for the two of us. Breakfast was good too, since we aren't fussy. Though the spread remained the same throughout our stay, there was ample food (bread, homemade jam, cereal, eggs, fresh delicious fruits, juice, coffee), and we enjoyed the cosy ambience of the little restaurant tucked beneath the reception floor. In fact, since our flight was pretty early, Maria, Donna & Tassos arranged for our breakfast as early as 6:30 am to ensure we would not leave hungry. I have no complaints whatsoever about the amenities as our room was comfortable, clean, the shower stall big enough and toiletries being replenished whenever we needed.
Yes, the stairs could pose a worry if one were not travelling light, but the staff are more than helpful to assist in lugging the bags up. Again, it would be a good piece of advise to travel light, since you will need to climb at least three flights of stairs (one at the entrance of the hotel, one on the way to the reception floor, and one from the reception floor to the elevator to the rooms). This could prove quite a backbreaking task should you have heavy luggage(s).
The management could indeed consider including hair conditioners as part of the toiletries especially during summer (we brought or own). What I liked best was the hospitality and warmth shown by Maria. Hugs, Maria! What we recommend: Acropolis Museum Boutique Hotel, for sure!
ps: I plan to take my family there for sure, as it is affordable, comfortable, friendly and a definite value-for-money!

The hotel promised much from the beautiful online images.
Our smallish room was 'over the top', with outlandish tacky decor.
The bathroom was tiny. Shampoo and body wash, yet no hair conditioner.
One channel TV. the pillows and mattress were old and uncomfortable
Breakfast was just ok. Mouldy fresh fruit on our last day. awful eggs, dreadful coffee.
Fresh squeezed orange juice was good. Service indifferent.
The front desk staff were very helpful, yet on our check out did not ask how our stay was
Or seek any feedback.
Wifi was efficient.
Need to try harder.
