Acropolis Museum Boutique Hotel
Ranked #43 of 282 Hotels in Athens
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 22, 2013

The good taste in my mouth left largely because of this hotel.
The ideal location between two subway stations and all possible forms of public transportation Excellent team always ready to help, the rooms are decorated in an antique way but fully equipped with modern facilities and cleanliness impressive they are responsible for this.
The hotel located between major tourist sites:the Plaka, the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and Temple of Zeus.
We made the most enjoyable vacation in Athens
I'am defenetly going to come back to this hotel in my next visit in athens.

It is our favourite hotel in Athens, we have stayed here for many times and it always was pleasure. The standard rooms are not worse than the superiors, just a bit smaller. It is very beautiful, clean and comfortable. Although the hotel is situated on noisy Singrou, it is quite quiet to live in.

It takes only 5 minutes to get to the nearest metro station, the hotel is located in a very quiet and green area not far from Acropolis.

For years it could boast one of the best breakfasts in Athens hotels (we usually stay in 3, 4 and 5 stars ones). But unfortunally last time we have noticed that these wonderful breakfasts became a source of economy: the range has lessened. The number of baked goods, dishes made from eggs, fruits and everything else has diminished.

We hope that the situation will improve as the breakfast has always been determining factor in preferring this hotel to the others in Plaka and Coocacki areas.

We rested a few days in May in Athens, stopped at the Acropolis Museum Boutique Hotel. We never for a moment regretted our choice. There are cozy well-maintained rooms, cool against the heat of the street, delicious hearty breakfasts. Many attractions are nearby - the temple of Olympian Zeus, Plaka - the center of the city, the Acropolis, the parliament building. But it is especially pleasing was hearty welcome. Thanks to the hotel staff, especially Mrs. Donara, we were delighted to communicate with her! Thank you for especially pleasant stay!

We booked this hotel going by the ratings of Trip Advisor which have always been real indicators of the level of service and standard of the hotels.
I must say we were disappointed that a hotel ranked No 22 on the list of hotels in Athens was pathetic. It should not be rated more than 2 stars. The corridors were always filled with garbage bags, they were reeking and smelling of dust. The rooms we had were facing the street and it was very noisy through out the night.
There is no lift so travellers whose rooms are on the top floors get ready to lug your luggage by yourself. You wont be assisted. Ask for assistance to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor and there comes a curt reply" Sir we are a three star hotel"
We had no internet access for 2 days. They took forever to fix it. Infact it was not fixed until the day we left.
The breakfast hall is a small dingy place with hardly any seating. The girl who works a the breakfast nook however does her best to serve everyone and she is very curteous.
The room in our locker didnt work. We ended up leaving our valuables in a suitcase.

Now for the pricing. The are not a budget hotel. Only the facilities are that of a budget hotel. There are other hotels in the area, which are priced lower but are cleaner and have better facilities.

Saving grace- proximity to the Plaka.... but our suggestion pick the other hotels in the area. More value for money.

Overall - very disappointed

Dear Guest,

First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review on Acropolis Museum Boutique hotel.

When reading your review, I must say I was more than surprised by its contents and truly believe that you really got us confused with another hotel of the area, since what you are describing has nothing to do with Acropolis Museum Boutique Hotel.

First of all our corridors do not even have garbage bins –not to mention garbage bags.

Our hotel does have a new modern lift that gets you up to the third floor, so you either did not understand our Reception’s instructions or you are just misled.

On the other hand our breakfast room can sit more than 40 people and since our hotel has only got 23 rooms, I am quite surprised that you barely found a place to sit.

The locker in your room is electronic with clear written instructions and even if you could not open it, our receptionists would be there to help you out with just one call.

I would kindly ask you to check again that you spent your brief stay in Athens at our hotel and not any other hotel in the area and get back to us.

Best regards,
Reseravtion Department

We just returned from our trip to Athens and we have only nice things to say about this hotel. Mrs Donara greeted us every morning with a warm smile. Our room, 203, had a balcony and in spite of facing the very busy street, the double glazing kept most of the noise out. The decor gave the room a personality, rather than the usual non-descript look most hotel rooms get, the room and its bathroom were very clean the huge bed was very comfortable. A safe and a mini-fridge can be found inside the wardrobe. The free Wi-Fi worked really well. Also included in the price is the breakfast which provided both sweet and salty food, including a huge bowl of really yummy greek yogurt (my favourite!). Outside the hotel, which is a 10 minute walk from the Acropolis Museum, you can find plenty of taxis lined up, the tram that serves the lines T4 and T5 that connect Syntagma Square with the Peace and Friendship Stadium and the Seaside respectively and just down the road is the Syngrou Fix station of the L2 metro line which is just two stops away from the Syntagma Square connection to the Airport. This makes the hotel a very convenient place to start exploring the city. All in all, a very good experience. Thank you!

I enjoyed my stay here, the room was small but comfortable and nicely decorated. I never woke up early enough for breakfast but ate yougurt every morning at the Fresko yougurt bar a few blocks down. The location is perfect, walking distance from the Plaka and Acropolis. I had a little trouble connecting my iPad to the wifi but they did have a technician come and fix it. There was a computer I was able to use in the lobby during the interim. All in all a great stay, I would definitely recommend this hotel

This hotel had grabbed my attention since I saw pics on the Internet. We went there with my husband 6 months ago and it really worth the money. Breakfast was decent and much, bedrooms were simply awesome. Probably the most beautiful decorated hotel I've ever seen. Athens was really nice we say the Parthenon (main reason went there). The hotel was close to Acropolis so it was such a pleasure to walk there.
