Great hotel, modern, clean, spacious. Breakfast is the best iv had in any hotel. Rooftop pool is small and there aren't many sun loungers but if you're only in Athens a few days you should have much time to laze around a pool. Our room had a lovely view of the acropolis. Friendly staff, nice cafe type place next door. Not in the greatest part of town but its just a short walk or metro ride to get you into the centre.

The hotel itself is very modern and nice - good sized rooms and the staff is very friendly and accomodating. We are from a colder climate and apparently 60 degrees in Athens is too cold. THe rooms were stuffy and hot but we were not able to turn the a/c on because it is off except in the summer. So we then had to open windows. This however was a problem the first two nights, as we could hear the karaoke/night club until 5 am and it was VERY LOUD. I have no clue how anyone in that hotel slept. After complaining, the front staff kindly switched us to the front of the hotel. No karaoke noise but then you got to hear the street noise. The breakfast was wonderful but the neighborhood was dicey. It is right next to a hop-on hop-off bus tour stop which worked out well for us. We also enjoyed the rooftop for dinner a couple nights. If you're sensitive to noise, this isn't the best hotel for you!

I'm slightly bemused by people saying Athens is ugly, unkept and not an attractive destination. What guide books do you people take along with you when you visit. I have been visiting Athens since 2000 and fell in Love with the place immediately.
Yes, there are some run down parts of the city but don't you find run down areas in All major cities worldwide? There are so many beautiful Neo-Classical buildings dotted around the city with trees on every boullervard and green spaces within the tourist areas. The main roads are well infustructered and most buliding well kept and maintained.
It has an amazing nightlife with gorgeous bars, restaurants, cafes dotted around the city so I'm confused as to why people don't see this? Could it be that only Greeks know where to go to enjoy the city?
I bought some friends to Athens in summer 2012 and they were all very pleasantly surprised on how beautiful the place was. They were saying it was nicer than London and I agreed. I understand that I know the city and where to go so it was easy for me to show them the real cosmopolitian and international side of Athens but even still the tourist areas: Plaka, Thessio were delightful too.
I would suggest the following areas to visit when visiting Athens: 1. Vouliagmeni & Glyfada (Southern Athens - you'll find sandy beaches pristine crystal clear blue water and a natural lake with healing properties. Also stunning nightclubs and restaurants located on the coastline. Only 20 minute drive from city centre). 2. Kiffisia & Kefalari (Northern Athens - High End Designer shops , great cafes, restaurants, bars, parks, stunning houses, gorgeous hotels etc. Only 25 minute drive from city centre. 3. Kolonaki, Syntagma, Plaka, Thessio, Pangrati & Hilton Area (Central Athens, great for tourist shopping, though Kolonaki is at the higher end of the scale with high end boutique shops but the other areas offer a traditional Greek ethos with great restaurants and unique & exquisite sightseeing opportunites). Or perhaps try a resturant in Psychiko (Northern Athens) very elegant and charming. I would love to show you people around the city and I guarantee you will walk away with the intention of hoping to return. I'm from London but am very passionate about Athens and just want othjers to see it's potential as I do. Please do message me if you would like further recomendations on where to go I would love to assist you. Thank you for listening.

Clean, modern, bright with excellent facilities, staff and roof-top view of the acropolis. Saunter to the roof-top bar and sit, drink and snack in the open air with a great view of the Parthenon. Outside of the hotel is graffiti-ridden and ugly. It feels like the city has no hope, is poor, depressed, and with simmering resentment.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room on a high floor with a view of the Acropolis.

Flew in from Washington, DC and stayed in Athens only 24 hours before going to Santorini and Istanbul. This hotel has a very helpful manager, think his name is Theseos. He sent us to a wonderful restaurant called 21 which turned out to be the best meal we had in Greece. Rooms are average, morning breakfast selection is adequate but lack fresh fruits, and if you walk around the hotel, walk the main boulevards not the small side streets. Use same caution as you would in any major American city and should be fine. TIP: When traveling in Greece, bring your own power adapter for US plugs as they were not easy to come by in the hotels in Athens and Santorini.
Wifi was free and worked well. To see as much as we can and to hedge against the possible strikes (which did not happen when we were there), we hired a private driver and guide from George's famous taxi service (yes that is the name). His son Nicholas met us at the athens airport, we went with him an hour away to Sunion to see the Temple of Poseidon and sights along the way. He then took us to the hotel after the half day trip. The following morning he took us on a half day tour of Athens (Acropolis, Agora, tower of wings, national archeological museum, drive by the parliament, see changing of the guards, went by Olympic stadium, see views from the top of the city, Kapnikarea which is a beautiful Byzantine church and then he took us to the airport. They don't go inside the sights but tells you about what you will see beforehand. You pay your own entrance tickets to the sights. He was a very personable fellow and drove very well. The car was a Mercedes taxi. If you are going to Athens only once in your life, you don't have a lot of time and you don't want to take the chance of public transport strikes, this is a good way to go.

An excellent choice for staying in Athens. A modern, recently renovated hotel with superb and really professional staff. I was really feeling that every little detail was taken care of. Free parking (very important in that area), free WiFi and a really good breakfast. Definitely recommended.

Sencond time in Novus after a couple of years. The hotel is still nice, modern, clean, very close to Metro station, FREE PARKING, and free WIFI....
Large rooms, with writing/working space.

The area is stil sort of the only disadvantage, but only late at night...
Will stay there again and again...
