Very clean rooms, small but everything the traveller needs. Location is good only a short walk to the metro connecting you to the airport and Port as well as tourist attractions. The service was very friendly and professional. Would highly recommend and will stay again!

We loved staying at the Athinaikon. Staff were friendly and helpful, even sorting out a taxi for us when we left. The rooms were clean and airy and the location was great. Next to the hustle and bustle of the central market, surrounded by interesting little food shops (deli meat, beans, herbs, cakes, even ironmongers for Greek coffee makers) and inexpensive cafes. The Plaka and Acroplis were 5 minutes' walk in one direction, the national museum 10 minutes' walk in the other. We didn't have breakfast there, but with the choice of cafes and cake shops nearby, we didn't need to. We'd be very happy to stay there again.

Very very clean. The price was really cheap. It was 5 min walk to Monastiraki metro station but İ never use it for Athens it is max15-20 to everywhere. I definitely recommend it to anyone traveling solo. Staff were lovely.

Great hotel for Athens. My boyfriend and I stayed there for two nights in August 2012 while we visited Athens.

It felt very safe (both the neighborhood and the building/hotel itself) and the staff were very friendly. Also, they had no problem with a quite early check in.

The room was very clean and overall we were very pleased with the value for our money.

I booked and got exactly what was advertised plus a cheerful staff, map and pointers for the city. The neighbourhood looked dodgy but it was walking distance to all the main sites and we paid two or three times less money for our rooms than what we would've paid on the other side of Acropolis. I much prefer to look at some graffiti and rubbish for 5 minutes en route than pay A LOT more.
The room was small and super simple but who cares if there is an AC and private bathroom.
