Centrotel is one of the best hotels we´ve ever stayed at. It´s modern, clean and the staff is extremely friendly. You must meet them to believe that there are still that kind of people living on our planet. They surely make a "bella figura" for their hotel, the city of Athens and the whole of Greece.

During our stay everything went like in a beautiful dream and I can´t come up with anything to complain about. And the price level is amazing - I´d say Centrotel is pretty close to a 5-star hotel, but you pay the same (or even less) you´d pay for a room in a hostel.

And when it comes to the location...I don´t really understand, what the people are complaining about in their reviews. Centrotel is located in a normal urban residential area. Nothing seedy about it, just ordinary Athenians. Plus there are 3 super markets and lots of cafés around the corner, and a superb gyros/souvlaki bar just next to the hotel. (Naturally, if you only want to see other tourists, then maybe better not to get outside of Plaka.) The walk to either Larissa or Victoria metro stations takes only 5 minutes, which makes the hotel very nicely connected. And the wonderful National Archaeological Museum is only an easy 10-minutes walk from the hotel.

All in all, I would recommend Centrotel for everyone, who´s planning a visite to Athens.

This is a modern, stylish, classy, hotel with excellent, informative staff and at a modest price. Indeed, the price is astonishing, given the standard of the hotel. It will suit sight-seeers who, at the end of a tiring day with sore feet, require a quiet and comfortable hotel but don't need a "room with a view" or a pool. It's 5 minutes' walk from the mainline railway station and from a choice of two metro stations. It's not in a smart area - a busy mix of locals, backpackers, hawkers and, (it must be admitted), immigrants on the streets, but there was no evidence of trouble or "edge" at any time of the day or night. There were as many oldies as "youfs" in evidence on the streets and eating out. We'd recommend it highly.
