“Yummy Athens”

Greek Cooking Class
More attraction details
Attraction details
Owner description: Get to know the wonderful world of Mediterranean cuisine; the herbs, the fresh vegetables, the choice meats that we always use and learn the basics on how to prepare a full Greek dinner with easy to follow recipes and plenty "hands on" preparation and cooking. The cooking course includes starters like eggplant salad, tzatziki, traditional seasonable pie, dolmadakia, Greek salad and a main course. Plenty of choices for vegetarians also.

The great thing about Eva, our cooking instructor, is that she is not a chef but just a lovely cook, who teaches the recipes just the way her family do them. This makes for a real deep-dive into the Greek tradition.
We had the chance to put our hands on the ingredients, work together in almost every step of the process. Of course is not a professional cooking class so don’t expect to put your hands on fires or ovens. But that’s not the point.
Me and the group (luckily very small, 6 altogether, all lovely people from the US besides me, ate the food we made and it was delicious, it did taste real and genuine).
This was really, really a nice experience.
May I just suggest a little Greek music on air, that would add flavor to what overall consider a real highlight of this short stay in Athens.

What a fun evening of cooking, eating, and meeting new people. Our instructor Eva was great at explaining the recipes she had learned from either her mother or grandmother. We made Greek salad, zucchini balls, spinach pie, the Greek dip with cucumbers, dill and yogurt, the most delicious lamb and potatoes, dolmas, and dessert. We had wine while fixing the meal and everybody had a hand in making everything. We even learned how to make the phyllo dough. This was a completely enjoyable evening. Plus scrumptious food and live entertainment while eating.

This place really tries hard and has it down on how to have a quick fun cooking class with great food afterwards. Expand your home menu with a few Greek dishes and have a great time while you are doing it. Take the extra add on market tour it provides a lot more context to the ingredients.

My husband and I joined the cooking classes when we were on our honeymoon trip to Athens. Food was great. I am still making some of the dishes I learned to make there. The cooking instructor was very nice. We had a great time.

Together with a couple of friends we participated in the Greek cooking class with the knowledgeable and brilliant cook Fofi. With her useful and precise instructions in fluent English, we made our way through the preparations of a delicious main dish (lamb) and four salubrious appetizers and a dessert together with the 14 other participants from various countries.
The course was very well-organized, and the dinner at the end simply yummi!
I give my warmest recommendation to Fofi and her cooking class.
